@@BrendenNichols I've been watching NASCAR for 11 years. Since the Daytona 500 in 2010. I love the thrills, the speed, the competition, and the great finishes. I'm thankful to have enjoyed my favorite sport since then.

@@charlestinsman6814 Indianapolis is Indycar, just like Daytona is NASCAR. The F1 races at Indy between 2000-07, also had up to 250.000 spectators during the first few years. But then the attendance slowly but surely started to drop, then came the tire debacle at US GP in 2005, and after that the US GP at Indy was dead. The 2009 Brickyard 400 ultimately killed that race.

I doubt it. They will only double down on the gimmicks. First the chase, than the playoffs, now the races are being divided into stages. They never back down, ever.

I think we're gonna see a new generation of people leading NASCAR here very soon. I don't think it'll ever get back to the way it was in the early 2000's but I think they could get close. The history of NASCAR is very intriguing which is why as far as sports and its history, NASCARS history is more popular than today's NASCAR I think.

1:12:12 - thats part of the problem. You have an un-sophisticated man (and a damn idiot in my eyes) trying to make a sport sophisticated, when noone on this dayumn planet wants it to be sophisticated. One of the reasons we love it so much is because its real (Wilkesboro) , its grass roots (Rockingham) and its by the people, for the people and the more you take it away from that the more it will fall. Im not even from any of the Southern States but i recognise what made this sport great. Thank the Lord Brian got replaced. As much as Smokey thought little Bill was an idiot, he dayumn sure helped make this sport great. Heres a saying that ive just made up but I think makes sense. If you polish something too much, it starts to wear away. I hope you're all well and good and staying safe.

40:00 - i dont know why these guys are saying they didnt think people outside Nascar knew who Dale [Sr.] was. I knew who he was, out here in England, before we had Internet. Even Hip - hop artists in New York were name dropping Dale by 1999 and thats just on a particular cd i bought. Senior was a massive massive name in global motorsport but also in popular culture. (the song is Mos Def - Speed law). Rip Dale and all those we've lost. Ps i hope everyones well and good and staying safe.

When NASCAR reached its peak. The only thing that ruined it from that point on was a recession from 2008-2009 that was unparalleled, the car of tomorrow or COT, NASCAR going away from its roots by getting out of Rockingham or even North Wilkesboro. And all the drivers became too polished. And I think that's partly the reason why a lot of us NASCAR fans would rather see the racing that existed from the 90s in the early 2000s from the cars are we seeing in the program. Could there ever be a another contract for television they should definitely go back to ESPN. And if anything, bring back Bob Jenkins.
@xSoccerxCorex4 жыл бұрын
it pisses me off how more people just forgot about the recession. that played a BIG part in the initial decline of nascar. that and the racing the COT produced the first 2-3 years didn't help matters (2008 brickyard 400, anyone?)

Eh, not important but @15:00 the narrator narrates: the Scots and the Irish, in one sentence .. Advice: when in Ireland or Scotland and while in a pub .. Do not say/use Irish and Scottish together in one sentence ! And absolutely not on a Saturday night, say around 10:45 pm (in fact, don't ever talk Irish in Scotland or Scottish in Ireland) Also, GREAT DOCU ... Thx
@RB-ib3mo3 жыл бұрын
Why would you think that? We love the Scots and vice versa for the most part as far as I've ever seen. We're both Gaelic language Nations. What we don't like is being referred to as being part of the UK, I don't know a single Irish man who won't correct someone if they say that lol. The English and Irish, and the English and Scottish are old enemy's alright but that's even going away. The English for over 600 years occupied Ireland and treated us very badly but the Irish always fought for their freedom, just like the Scots. Actually come to think of it the English and pick a country anywhere in the world and the chances are they're old enemy's lolol😂
