Hey guys! Due to recent copyright claims, I've had to trim out a few things near the middle of the iceberg. If there are awkward transitions or jumps, that is why. I'm trying to clean it up as I can but it takes a while with KZbin's trimming tool after a video is public (you can only make one edit at a time, and it takes hours for the video to process).

A couple of minor things. Brad Keselowski stepped aside for Timmy Hill to run the eNASCAR Pro Invitational iRacing Series race in 2021. I actually went to high school with Paul 'Paulie' Harraka. Nice guy, ran Late Models, K&N Pro East (now ARCA East). Also, NASCAR driver Julia Landauer has had several TED Talk presentations. A clarification on Bobby Allison's 85th win, Tiny Lund did win 2 races in Pony cars in 1971. Those were not initially counted as Cup wins, only being promoted to full Cup wins in 2005, 30 years after Lund's death. Also 6 'Sweepstakes' races in the late 1950s saw Convertibles win and be credited with Cup Series victories. In addition to the Open Wheel League, NASCAR had a Midget, a TQ Midget, and a Drag Racing Series including one event co-sanctioned with the NHRA in the late 1950s and early 1960s. The Josh Reaume posted his anti-Semitic 'doodle on a strudel' on Snapchat.

for the Pro invitational race, Brad Keselowski had a commitment, so Austin Cindric was going to step in for him, but then Austin let Keselowski step in instead. Keselowski ‘OK’d’ it as well, but technically it was Cindric letting him step in. Thanks for the insight on the other topics!

@@SoldiesBC I suspect charges were filed right after it happened. In that case, then he's had active arrest warrants ever since. Statute of limitations limits how long the authorities have after the event to actually file charges. So on a charge with a 2 year Statute of limitations after they investigate for 2 years, if they don't file charges then it would expire and they wouldn't be able to after that. But that's not what happened. If charges are filed the day after, they don't just go away because you aren't stopped for the next 25 years. You still have active warrants 25 years later. If they had not filed charged originally, then yes it would have applied. Its like all those old rape cases that don't get prosecuted because it's been 30 years. That's why. They didn't file charges 30 years ago when it happened. So statute of limitations applies and they can't file unless they do that thing NY did that gave women 1 year to come forward about stuff that happened 40 years ago. So no, it doesn't apply because they filed charges on him right after it happened. So charges have been filed and font just disappear. If they had not filed after the race, then it would have applied and they wouldn't be able to file charges 50 years later.

@@SoldiesBC now, there have been cases where people who had arrest warrants for 40 years finally got picked up and the judge would wave the charges since they were able to live productive lives and didn't ever get in trouble again after that. The entire issue surrounding this new car and how stiff it is/was is something that goes back many decades when the cars were so big and stiff that drivers felt it was better to be thrown from the car than to be in it when it wrecked because of the same reason drivers are getting injured now. If people would just do a bit of research they would know these things. One reason for the new car is to keep the costs down, well how is that working now? If you wreck a car you must buy the parts from a “single source supplier” who can and will set the cost, where as in the past teams could repair there own cars for a much cheaper rate! But then Nascar would not get there cut and it would make the officials have to actually work and earn there pay!

That is an interesting video (although it never was explained what a NASCAR iceberg is). I've been watching NASCAR since the late 1960s. I never was involved with sanctioned racing, but I enjoy watching it (well, not as much now since Dale died). I do remember a couple of my dad's friends had Superbirds back then. I really wanted one (and still do!). I wonder why you didn't mention Stroker Ace with the other NASCAR movies? I think it's much better than Days of Thunder (really a love story instead of a racing story). And who couldn't forget Loni Anderson! Wow! And you didn't mention my favorite Chargin' Charlie Glotzback who drove the purple 99 Dow Dodge Daytona Charger. In late 1969, Glotzbach received broken ribs and was shot twice after firing an employee of his trucking company. He returned the next season and continued to RUN COMPETITIVELY WITH ONE OF THE BULLETS STILL IN HIS UPPER ARM! (ABC Wide World of Sports Broadcast, 1970 Daytona 500.) The Mike Harmon wreck in Bristol reminded me of the Michael Waltrip wreck in the very same place. Both were horrific. They reminded me of those toy cars we had as kids that would fly apart when you'd run them into a wall. And poor ol' Sterling Marlin. He took a bunch of grief after Dale's death. A lot of people blamed him for wrecking Dale. He didn't deserve that onslaught of threats and insults. All in all, time well spent watching this video. Thanks! 😀

"Raise Hell, praise Dale!" - Perfectly fitting for Aaron Plessinger in the world of motocross/supercross. 👍😁

Joseph Lombard @ 57:02 is mainly hiding out online as he sent people who critiqued him a cease and desist. No joke

Half of NASCAR fans still think Bubba Wallace had something to do with the noose. It’s the most bizarre cultural thing Ive seen in any sport ever.
@jexmarro9 Жыл бұрын
He didn’t have anything to do with it, he is however a little bitch for mistaking a pull rope for a fucking noose

I’ve came across Shane hmiel in the asphalt street stock division a few times on Iracing. Decent driver but never managed to get ahead of me

A crazy story about Smokey. One day, one of his cars was caught by nascar for having an illegal fuel cell or something close. NASCAR took that fuel tank and Smokey, being who he was, hopped in and drove it away. Without a fuel tank, he had some crazy system in the car that gave him extra fuel

They never specified the length of fuel line you could have, so he ran a ridiculous amount of fuel line that ended up holding a few more gallons. Basic once you think about it, but no one had!

Haven’t watched the video but I hope there is something explaining a Chevy knock-off racing in NASCAR. the Chevrolet SS was a copy of the original Holden Commodore that started production in the 1970’s, Holden isn’t really known due to it being Australian.

I must say the male enhancement product "Extenze" @36:22 DOES WORK. I've tried all of the OTC drugs in this category & the Extenze "Original" (in white box) does it for me. I'd stay away from their later variants in the black or red box, those did nothing like Extenze Original.

The Harraka Crash was initiated by Reutimann, who stopped suddenly in front of him.

I wish this video would've included info to identify the year of the events mentioned or something. For example, one part says "this is the most iconic prerace prayer in nascar history" but doesn't explain why, where or when. We know it's at Nashville and the race was the Auto Parts 300 but that's all, and we only know that because the words can be seen in the background of the clip. *edit. I just searched out the invocation and watched it on here, and now I definitely understand why it is iconic. Watch it yourself because it's well worth it.👍🤣
