Regarding the Elecgear Heatsink (copied from Amazon) I contacted the manufacturer and they confirmed it is still a copper pipe and have only changed the plating to nickel which explains the color change. I have attached the full response below. Thank you for your message. We have changed the surface finish recently. This made the change of surface color. It was changed from Copper tube + phosphating to Copper tube + Nickel plating. The two types of finish are the classic technics to deal with pure copper to prevent it from being oxidizing. For the color tone concern, we changed it from the phosphating (Copper color) to Nickel plating (Silver Color). This is because the copper color is a warm color, while we think the silver goes better with the main color of the heatsink body (Dark grey with a little metal blue inside.). We want it to be cold color since it is a cooler. We’re sorry we did not noticed this concept when we first launched the product. One problem is that the P5C selling link has been shared by all marketplaces of Amazon. However, the inventories in these places are different in the surface color. The big cause is the shipping transition to some marketplaces were a huge delay. They're not synced. So one color can not reflect all the products in Amazon facility. We updated the Amazon picture yesterday since more 'Silver colored' P5C gets in Amazon. We're confident that all the EL-P5C comes with pure copper pipe with extreme performance. Thank you. Hi I have seen this response from them on amazon. I'll be honest I think they are lying. Because they have completely removed the "copper" pipe from their advertising. Go back and a look. Yet they still highlight and empathise that it comes with a copper washer for the screw 😂😂😂. Very shady indeed.

Thanks for the tests, but in the instructions for this radiator, it is recommended to put a 2mm thick copper plate instead of one of the thermal pads. I currently have a 530 seagate with a snowman heatsink, but I don't like that the ssd bay is not closed and I bought an eagle heatsink before your review. Are you sure that in the tests the pressure of the radiator to the ssd was sufficient?

I finished testing and my results are as expected: Eagle is better than Sabrent. I used the 3mm pad from Eagle also for the Sabrent and the Eagle was still better. Without the 3mm Pad (not included in Sabrent package) the Sabrent would be even worse. I think that both do the job well. but if you can get JEYI Eagle cheaper with better performance, the decision is clear. @@nascompares I hope it come across as ball busting. I was just honestly confused like how did this happen!? Personally I have the elecgear with a 4tb firecuda but I'm still very interested to see how this pny did vs the sabrent. I almost went with the sabrent myself but I wanted a heavier duty heatsink being my ssd is nicely more expensive than my ps5 disc model itself. It most likely would have been good with the sabrent but I just wanted more piece of mind. Would be cool if an option similar to the sabrent could put out even better numbers. Plus I like to share your videos with friends looking so they can see what their best options are for their needs.

@@Legend869 Thicker oil might have more “heat density” but it is being used to move heat from the source to the somewhere else, such as a oil cooler where it is transferred either to a circulating coolant or to the air. With a heat sink for a semiconductor component, it is moving the heat from the component (by direct contact) to the air via the heat dissipation fins, and needs to do that as quickly and efficiently as possible.

*pops on pedantic baseball cap* let's drill down into this a bit. The weight difference off the spec tables is exactly that, from a spec table. I probably should have actually weighed the HS during the vid, but I don't have digital scales that sophisticated to hand. However, the EAGLE is much wider and taller (ie a larger service area), so directly weight comparisons on sheet can't relative. My comment is based on the weight of the thing Vs other likewise scaled HS'...but again, it's just my opinion. *turns pedantic baseball cap sideways to look like a cool kid* Also, you are right, I didn't refer to the weight of the Sabrent in its review...bit that was in sept '21 and that PS5 designed HS was the first of its kind. I wouldn't of had reason to weigh it and given most of these new HS for PS5 since are ridiculously heavily patented, even I am still surprised at the similarities of these. Sorry to hear if this vid left you feeling less chuffed about my content man, but I stand by it.

@@nascompares I really do enjoy your content. I have no clue about any of this stuff before I purchased a PS5. I am here learning. Thank you for the reply.

@@nascompares what do you think about the revised product of the Elecgear with plated nickel-cooper pipe. I understand this will "help" with corrosion But how the new material is going to help with heat from the nvme. Any thoughts?

Ah MC Kuc, you do seem to want to spam-post. Let me reply in kind! Where do I start here. #1 you cannot compare the spec sheet stats of these two, they are completely different. Maybe compare a similar sized HS, such at the Elecgear at 100g?! Also, are you asking me if the same temperature sensor, connected to the same SSD controller, under the same thermal pads, out of the same ps5 m 2 slot, with the same wire, using the same ps5 screw..with everything attached in the SAME locations (with ONLY the heatsink changed each time) is not a straight enough method of comparison? Fire me over your tests when you are done...

@Benito , I do really like the copper pipe of the Elecgear but if you read the comments of that video, you will read tht a few users recently complained that the pipe is not copper/absent in recent releases. I still recommend the unit, but check first!!!
