Women in my country U.K wear a hijab as a cultural identity, not for religion. I have seen tons of Asians and blacks 'Muslims' who wear a hijab for a sense of identity and belonging . why wear a hijab if you coat yourself in makeup ?

Here are five pointers for Muslims to ponder over: 1) Yes, Playboy has changed it’s content from covering nudity to some other topics, but the company is still viewed as being from that which promotes immorality in society. It will be a long time, maybe never, to have the name of Playboy being associated with something other than sexual enticement. 2) Yes, in history, men like Malcolm X have given interviews to the magazine, but again two wrongs don’t make a right. Just because others have done something, doesn’t suddenly make it right. Also, just to clear the honour of Malcolm X (r) from those who are shamelessly using his name in defence of the defenceless, Malcom X did his interview with Playboy before he became a Muslim and when he was with the Nation of Kufr. So please get your facts right. 3) Yes, she is covered, but she’s definitely not in the right concept of what Hijab means from the Qur’ān and the Sunnah. We all know of the famous saying of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) when he said women will be clothed yet naked. This being due to the fact that the clothing will be tight or revealing. 4) Yes, if she wants to promote modesty, then there’s a better way to do it. The righteous Muslim women of the past and the present wouldn’t dream of using a platform like such to advocate a stance like such. It’s like choosing the platform of a gambling company to promote charity. 5) Yes, we all need to be wise in determining what is the productive way of spreading Islam and what is counter-productive. Seculars and liberals will keep digging themselves in dangerous holes whilst the orthodox will know they have the best three earliest generations of Muslims’ support behind them. What is important for everyone in such events also is to remain civil and debate with that which is good in speech and wise.

it's what happens when hijabi fashionistas get out of hand. the hijaab has become a way for 'hijabi' sisters to gain a platform. playboy were using her to rebrand themselves and I'm sorry but I find the whole statement of 'first hijabi' very arrogant and offensive to a sister like myself who wears the hijaab. if you ever see the term first hijabi anywhere ask yourself why they are the first females to be doing this, is it maybe because it isn't permissable. and these days there's this whole phenomenon about women empowerment which in modern terms means basically support a sister even in sin. the Hijaab is a beautiful thing and for Allah. not to be played with and tainted to gain approval from people who do not understand it or objectify women. it just seems that when money is thrown at people their morals and values go out the window. this dunya is nothing in comparison to what is waiting for the believers in the hereafter - may Allah grantbus the highest of Jannah and make us among those who he is pleased with. I've seen a lot of things on social media but this by far has shocked me on all grounds. may Allah guide that sister and all of us.

I was shocked and so disappointed to find out it was her I looked up to her for a bit. Muslims in the west are under a lot of pressure to show they are integrated into western society but how far should we take it? We shouldn't be sell outs and be less practicing or adopt their corrupt ways, being a believer makes you special,different and honourable don't forget that. It was narrated from Abu Sa’eed al-Khudri (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “You will certainly follow the ways of those who came before you hand span by hand span, cubit by cubit, to the extent that if they entered the hole of a lizard, you will enter it too.” We said: “O Messenger of Allaah, (do you mean) the Jews and the Christians?” He said: “Who else?” Truly practicing islam will clearly set you apart from non muslims (in a good way obviously) but when you're acting like them to appease them like abandoning the hijab,committing zina,drinking alcohol the lines get blurred and people can't tell who you are and what you truly stand for I'm not saying it takes you outside of islam but most muslims know its wrong...I hope so. Maajid Nawaaz and Irshad manji both claim to be muslim but both want to reform/change islam. A muslim is someone who submits to the will of God which involves accepting and following islam's rules into their life,not apposing and going against it.

This sad event had taken place a yr ago,but I just watched your video today brother talking about a Muslim sister committing such a horrific act . I'm very saddened by this incident and cannot stop my tears. May Allah (swt) guide her to not continue in this dead end road . I do not wear the headscarf which is part of the hijab but inshallah some day soon i will . Allah guide us all to straight path and save us from wrong doing.i appreciate you for your wonderful work and hope that our brothers and sisters who have disliked this video can open their eyes and see how wrong it is to support a fellow human being going the wrong direction in life

Secondly, many girls and this includes muslim girls have loads of insecurities...so isn't good to have famous hijabis. Just a thought...because I've been working in counselling and I've seen an increase in loads of girls (especially muslim girls) with lots of body issues and eating disorders. but nice hearing ur thoughts

It’s just so sad that we see it as a form of “moving forward”. There is nothing to be proud of by the ummah of a Muslim woman representing Islam going on playboy. We have a lot more other things to be proud of and strive towards. Really need to reassess our goals

Yo dawah man ..... generally Muslims nowadays are not educated about these modern day stuff, etc? Why not get contact with central Masjids throughout England and tell them to talk about these issues cause i'll have an impact on all the masses? Imagine that cause they will reach out to all youths in England & have an very strong positive impact of awareness.... ?? Cause you only reach few youngers, they can reach loads and loads imagine
