What an underrated and talented boxer Kevin Kelley was but what an incredible puncher Naz was. 23 years ago now this was and still one of the best fights of the modern era.

Great upload naz hit so hard it got him out of trouble a few times no featherweight at the time could take that power.Also naz could put you out with both hands very rare power.

This is the first time I halve seen this. I used to watch Prince naseem fights on TV but then theyp went on sky we didn't have this type of television or box office television. This is a great match. The Prince is a warrior. For sure this would. Have been excellent on television at the time I really was missing out 😐😐😐🎥🎥🎥🎥

Classic.. however, I noticed even before the Manuel Medina contest that Naz was becoming power mad. He would become frustrated and bored quite easily in fights if he couldn't get the man out of there in the first four rounds. I believe it was the Medina fight that the commentators mentioned that he did no road work whatsoever.. so the hatred of training was something well known even in those days when he was on top of the world.

Naz was a rare talent. So much power for a featherweight. However his arrogance was his downfall, he could've gone down as one the greatest ever.

NAZ fights were always events. Being in your 20’s in the 90’s was great, packed pubs and everyone watching the fights .. the amount of 2nd round KO’s he had was amazing 🥊

A very entertaining fight, but the writing was on the wall for Hamed, lost is boxing skills very quickly and became power mad, always looking for a one punch knock out, the last nail in his coffin was not Barrera, it was when they got rid of Brendan Ingle, shame, Lee.

i think naz got too much stick he won got off floor in a terrific fight but got stick reason he fought so bad against barrera is he had 2 trainers in corner not brendan but Barrera was fantastic that night

Naz had a sledgehammer of a short left hook. Kelly wasn't the only boxer to feel the power.

I love the shame and fear on his face as Barrera beat the shit out of him it makes me happy he didn't know what to do and he realised he was not in his opponents league

You could argue Kelly exposed Naz before Barrera did. Barrera even said Kelly dropped Prince 3 times and he could not do that in beating Hamed.
@davidscott27714 жыл бұрын
Kelley was far and away the best opponent Naz faced before Barrera, if he had stuck to his boxing rather than going to war in the 4th round he could have prolonged the fight and made it even tougher for Hamed, Naz's power and youth would ultimately have been the deciding factors but all the analysts and commentators here were writing Kelley off, a forgone conclusion apparently, ridiculous in hindsight.
@davidscott27713 жыл бұрын
@You Watched Not sure what point you're trying to make. Is it that you believe Kevin Kelley was a better fighter than Barrera ?? Oh and Naz was no shell when he fought Barrera he was undefeated and the lineal 126 champ, hardly a shell.
@davidscott27713 жыл бұрын
@You Watched LOL sorry I'm still not sure what point it is your trying to make ?? Is it that you think Barrera is overrated ?? And Hamed was not a shell - undefeated, lineal FW champ and no.6 on Ring magazine's pound for pound list when he lost to Barrera.
@davidscott27713 жыл бұрын
@You Watched He was a world champion, beat Kennedy McKinney who KO'ed Junior Jones who you regard as a world class fighter so maybe that makes McKinney a world class fighter. Yes two bad losses to Junior Jones, he came back from that to win another world title and most people thought he beat Morales in the first fight. Are you trying to suggest Kevin Kelley is a better fighter than Barrera ?? I'm still not sure what your point is and why your tone is so aggressive.
@davidscott27713 жыл бұрын
@You Watched So McKinney fluked his win over Junior Jones ?? Strange when Jones was stumbling around the ring his legs gone from punches by McKinney didn't look like a fluke to me, LOL. But if you want to believe Kevin Kelley was a better fighter than Barrera then that's great although you're the only person on the planet apart from Kevin Kelley himself who believes that. Go read any list of all time great fighters and you'll see Barrera above Kelley. Go ask any boxing journalist and they'll tell you Barrera was better than Kelley. Go on any boxing discussion forum and they'll tell you Barrera was better than Kelley.
@davidscott27713 жыл бұрын
@You Watched Barrera was unable to beat Jones but was able to beat McKinney who KO'ed Jones because styles make fights but you'd be aware of that if you knew anything about boxing. Oh and Derrick Gainer was not undefeated when he fought Kelley, he already had 3 losses on his record, LOL.
