omg thank you for putting out a review and talking about the actual gripes with the phone besides the soc. the power button should be below the volume buttons, it would make the screenshot shortcut actually usable one-handed.

I would say you hit everything on the nail on the head. All the things that you mentioned in the video is true as I also got the pixel 9 pro XL and I've experienced so much better improvement in this version of the pixel. I've been watching your videos since you started reviewing pixel phones and iPhones and I still have my 15 promax that I use as a secondary phone, but I've always grabbed my pixel first for everything else. Really good video. I'd love to hear your thoughts on comparing the iPhone and the pixel. Not for the camera only but for the ecosystem as I'm heavily invested in the Apple ecosystem but the only thing that's not Apple is my pixel. So far. I'm very happy with the pixel and I still have my older pixels such as the pixel, first generation and pixel 3, pixel 4, pixel 6 and 7. I still have my old iPhones as well as the 15 pro Max. I decided to forego the 16 pro Max since it was redundant and boring. It seems like I can do so much more with the pixel phones. Despite the concern about privacy. I still have a Mac as my main computer and an iPad as well as airpods. I recently bought the pixel watch 3 to complement the pixel phone for workouts mainly. On a daily. I usually wear a mechanical watch. Thanks for the video.

Thanks for the detailed review and including the night photo example! But nighttime video is where the real challenges come in. It's especially noticeable with the front camera in low-light conditions - it's like a storm of noise during nighttime video recording. It would be nice if you could cover this in your reviews so that Google might take note and work on improving it. No reviewers talk about this but it's very important for people, some even had to return their phones because nobody talked about this huge issue in their videos.

Left iphone and Samsung for Pixel 9 pro fold. And haven't looked back. Google is cooking

Although I think the Pixel 9 pro is the phone of year for 2024. I believe the reason is that the bar was set pretty low by the other manufacturers. The 9 series is still an overpriced premium mid-ranger. There's also the questionable long-term performance of the Tensor soc. I like my 9 pro for the size and cameras, but my S24+ performs way better.
@donaldbraugh23142 күн бұрын
I had the S24U and it was very quick and powerful yet this is no mid-range phone (9 Pro XL) . It isn't as snappy as the S series but it is not slow, sluggish or laggy. Plus the battery beats my S24, of course

Good job on the review clear concise and under ten minutes. This might be my go to phone I would be upgrading from Samsung S22 Ultra.

Do you think the Pixel 9 Pro XL is the best smartphone of 2025 so far? 🤔
@donaldbraugh23142 күн бұрын
I enjoy my Pro XL yet I see that the OnePlus 13 is probably the best SO FAR. PIXEL 9 WAS LAST YEAR
@donaldbraugh23142 күн бұрын
It's the best for 2024 IMO. Hey we all need to give each OEM a chance to see if they can compete. There are no problems yet with the S25 series it's not out yet, so I can have a wait-and-see attitude.

0:26 STOP! A lot of youtubers highlight that past pixels as "unusable" or not worth owning and that is NOT the case for every user and Im sick of hearing people talk about these phones like we all had the same issues. Currently Im on the P7 and have owned it day one. Yes it was buggy software side day 1 but it DID get fixed with monthly updates. The pixel 7, 2 years in for me is not a perfect phone but it is very reliable as a daily phone. The only thing that truly sucks is the thumb reader/sensor and I have no lock on my phone. Im just saying you can't speak for everyone.

My spouse uses a Pixel 7 since launch in 2022 and it works fantastic. I use a Pixel 3 that I got in 2018 and even that works fine (apart from bad battery). I need to switch, but I guess I'll wait until next black friday sales.

Man you are so right. The iPhone and Galaxy have objectionably better hardware. I owned a Galaxy S24 Ultra for 10 days, then I bought an iPhone 15 Pro Max, sold it two months later then re-bought one because Apple Intelligence was coming, then sold it again after buying a Pixel 9 Pro XL, which is what I'm using to type this message on. It's a great phone and i have no desire to sell it, unlike the others.

Warning: I got a Pixel 9 pro, and it had a bunch of glitches out of the box w no damage. I was told by a Google rep that some phones are sold "new" by Google but are refurbished and are considered new by Google. They cannot guarantee that the new phone your buying is actually new NOR that if the new phone you bought needs to be replaced bc of glitches they can't guarantee you a new one. 0/10 returning tmmr and wow what a let down.

I disagree, the pixel has nowhere near as much customization as a Samsung or even an iPhone nowadays. At least with the stock pixel launcher

OnePlus 13 makes Pixel 9 Pro XL seem outdated by comparison in 2025.
@Enigmatic5402 күн бұрын
For me raw power isn't a winner anymore, people want experience, ease of use, simplicity, and functional software. Pixel experience is miles ahead of OP in how complete the device feels to use in just about any use case.

If you're still stuck in 2015, sure. The power of the tensor is more than enough and I love the pixel experience, the camera and the fast updates. What I mean by 2015, performance used to be more important, you noticed it with every better device, but today? Come on.

I never understood why the people call the processor shit, I have a OnePlus 7t pro, and bought a pixel 8 pro for my father. The snapdragon 855 plus inside my 7t pro has half the power of the G3. And I never experienced any slow downs and I can easily play games (sure 30 fps maxed out but there's no reason to play games such as PUBG maxed out since you just get more grass for the others to hide in). For day to day use such as KZbin and simpler games the 7t is more than enough. Now imagine the 8 pro with twice the power? Basically overkill.
