I got the 8a for $440 and I'm perfectly happy. I don't see why people wouldn't want to save $100 and pick up some earbuds with that money or save your $100 dude life is expensive. Same chip and $100 less with more durability im in on that.

Hey man, u are incorrect about it's refresh rate, in your display settings there is an option for smoother display (turned off by default) that puts u up to 120hrts refresh rate, does consume more battery but u get a faster display in return

I'd say that Gorilla Glass 3 is the best all rounder, it has the best scratch resistance out of all the different Gorilla Glass, and the crack resistance is 80% as good as the Victus.

As of now in my county the pixel 8 is £499 while pixel 8a is £419 so pixel 8 is q better deal

I manage to bag 1 for £228 new and think it’s amazing as a daily driver, not to mention the photos and lots of years of updates. Definitely a good bang for buck

Some of the cons I noticed after one year of using my pixel 7: Blurry photos (mostly in close up) Fingerprint sensor is straight up shit they should use a physical sensor now Easily scratched back glass Heating issue while taking video Battery life is taking a hit in 7-8 months without any gaming Slow charging Not having every feature in Indian version which is a bummer even after a year of usage. Edit: pixel in google camera app 🗿pixel in social media camera app 🤡 Even oneplus and Samsung provide Better quality photos in social media cameras (also selfies in indoor settings are trash in every situation)

The thing is, it's less confusing when you view it through the context that Google often puts their phones on sale. Meaning, in my opinion it's alot easier to recommend the 8a over the 8 if it goes on sale for $399 or even $449 as it's over $200 cheaper than the 8. But you are getting 90 percent of the same experience. I know if this goes on sale on Black Friday for $399 on Google or $349 at Best Buy I'm heavily considering getting it if i don't like the reviews for the Pixel 9. The prices are so high on the 9 though it's very tempting to save money and go with the 8a.

I think Google should eliminate the base Pixel model and just release the A Model alongside the Pro models, if they can keep the A model cheaper. So customers could have the option to have either a budget Pixel or the more expensive Pro models.

Hey. I have 8a and my battery life is bad i would say. I get 4 hours of SOT max. I unplug at 8 am and when i go to bed at 23 pm i have 20 %or less battery left. Does the phone need a month for adaotive battery ro take effect?

I used to love Pixel phones. When they used Snapdragon processors, they were so much more stable. I had nothing but bugs and issues from the Pixel 6 to the Pixel 8, including the 8a. Even if you set the thermal issues aside, there are still just too many problems with their software for me to justify the price points of these devices. Not trying to bash anyone, as this has been my experience with them.

Never had heating issues on 8a and zero issues on behalf of the processor , I'm highly satisfied and sorry to hear about your bad experience with 8. However, 7 was worst . Glad I traded in for 8 a for a good deal.
