Great video mate Got to love river carp they really do pull... i have been lucky enpugh to catch proper wild ones but even the lake carp become something else once in the river for awile.. some going over 40lb this way... but very hard and you have t9 had bags of luck to land them once you have been lucky enough to find and get ahead of them..always moving

It does happen Lewis, however it can also be avoided by adapting rig and baiting strategies. Those chub are incredibly greedy though.

Yes please more river fishing! Carp with know names! No bivvy boys around a muddy puddle trying to catch the next big thing! How about chub and barbel on whats in the fridge! Or a specimen roach, dace or perch out the river using natural baits or bread, as these days its on a budget fishing,! Whatever happens really enjoy your films all the best. Lee

Yes Alex you done good my old China plate 💪. And some epic #lurkers banked . And I had a feeling you would pull out some real gems. And it was nice to see you and Carl back together again lol . Keep up that pre bait on the river witch is a good tip for all as the river can be tough at times . I baited a spot on the river for 3 weeks every 2nd to 3rd day then went to do a weekend to find one of the dog walkers had watched me the hole time . I asked you had any thing nothing I did spook a fue on the cast though so I went back on the Sunday afternoon he was just going he had a small common and a heep of bream so I walked to a bridge 2 miles up then back to see two nice carp top so back to north west London then back to Surrey for a cheeky work night and had 2 30ld+ mirrors and a mid double common one of them mirrors is my PB still of 38lb6oz. Nice one Alex!!!! River carp fight harder and the difference and variety is endless and you always have that feeling the next bite could be off a fish that hasnt been caught before that sense of mystery THE UNKNOWN . I fished the river severn for 2yrs on a strict no fishing area, I built a swim hidden from everyone! I endured rats,wasps,tics,and not being able to move more than 4ft. I had some very big fish for the river at the time up to 37lb and came across a couple of uncatchable lumps (40+) it was the best 2 years fishing of my life and then the council came and cut the trees and it was no longer possible :( ....... The carp are still there i hope and if you look off the Wo*****er road bridge towards the Sa***na bridge on a sunny day you might just spy something a bit special.

I do :p They are taken against the building that young student sadly died in years ago if you are familiar with the story? I had alot of flood escapees also around 12-17lb this was the main stay then a group of older flood escapees possibly from the 2003 floods that had grown on.... And this is my opinion on the bigger fish as they are scaley and alot different to the commercial escapees, A farm lake on the outskirts of the city along river teme used to get flooded all the time I think these bigger fish came from there swam down where the teme conects to the river in question and swam upstream to the slacker water and grew lots! if you have an email ill send some pics.
