Love it! Do all my fishing like this, have never understood why people focus all their time on casting out huge leads into the middle of the lake when you can walk the margins and nearly always spot a carp. Really neglected approach on most waters. Has made me want to dust the rod off after a year out!

Without doubt the best buzz catching a carp is in the edge. And this proves you don’t have to fish 100+ yards on a bin lid to catch them which without offending any one this has become all to common in modern day carp angling. Great video great watch.

Great vid. So many anglers could benefit by just taking a rod and walking around a lake and jumping on close edge chances. You learn so much about how carp behave that you wouldn’t see sitting behind static rods. Was poignant watching this for me as I noticed one of those spots Oli fished which I used to find good fish constantly but would never have landed them on my 12ft’ers so never fished for them, wish I have Scopes back then! Good work!

Really great video, However I always have problems walking & finding fish. Because when I do, i find that the pegs in that area are usually taken. Really hard to do on busy waters, which the ones in my area usually are :( I find I have to turn up and grab a peg quickly before someone else does, never really have the opportunity to walk and find the fish before I settle.

Hooray my kind of fishing and the reason I switched to my sawn offs from big old rods. Just perfect tools. Cracking video. Its all well and good fishing a mile away with baitboats etc but this is the scope way

Just want to add ivejust got myself a complete set of 3 cork scope sawnoffs now for my main rods. I fish river and canal theyre the ultimate weapons. I got the 3lb sawnoffs just awesome. They’re serious fishing rods just in a tiny package. I do the night under my recon brolly all year round and coupled with my set of sawnoffs i got the ultimate mobile set up.

Cannot work out if this is spring or autumn on the film. Olie is at the lakes 8am but it's dark, so guess it's November time. Shows the carp still like the shallows even in winter?

Good video and nice filming. One thing - Is it me, but if you're in a position where you can watch the fish pick up your hook bait and get away with it using 'rigs'... Why not dispense with them and just strike when you see the fish suck the bait in?
