Thanks our God you, nice people, still exist! In Bulgaria we are Orthodox too and we use crowns in our weddings, - priest puts them on the heads of bride and her husband, and after that they circled the table, which represenrs an oltar!

Syrian Orthodox weddings in kerala still have the crowning ceremony although we dont use an actual crown anymore..we celebrate a chain instead of the crown over the bride and groom's head

Yes. Here I have to tell you that there are two divisions of Syrian Christians in kerala. The st.thomas christians gave upto ony 3%of nestorian lineage. genetics have shown that knanaya christians have upto 13% of nestorian blood. knanayas are a later settlers compared to st.thomas christians. the remaining percentage of the blood comes from the hindu Nairs and Namboothiris,both upper castes in the hindu society,and they intermixed with the middle eastern settlers. So,those today are descendents of the local upper caste hindus that intermixed with the middle eastern settlers.
