The very first time we went to Nassau, about 20 years ago, the taxi we got at the airport hod parts of the floor missing, so you could see the road through the holes lol, have been back many times since, and must say the taxis have improved lol...

Really great video! I am going to Atlantis for my 30th birthday in October so I’m really excited🎉 will definitely be using Elkin travel ! Have you got a video about the fish fry? I’m excited to see that. I was a bit worried about the travel warning as I’m from the U.K. and I don’t think the British government have issued a warning for Nassau but I’m guessing it’s more just local crime

Heading to Nassau in a cpl weeks for a 4 night stay,i got an Airbnb walking distance to down town and the beaches,the owner of the Airbnb is even picking me up at the airport for $30.00 each way...The additional tourist taxes and VAT they add to the hotel and resorts is just ridiculous...and Atlantis is so un affordable for the average working man/woman..I have been visiting the Bahamas for 45 years and it's still laid back..I like Nassau at Christmas time,used to have a lot of festive decor and school kids singing carols on the sidewalk...

I was in Nassau via cruise ship Super Bowl weekend. It is kind of sketchy outside of the gates. Need to be careful lots petty theft

It's not sketchy at all 🤦🏽‍♂️ tired of ppl spreading lies and propaganda. Common sense should be the helm of anyone traveling to a foreign country. Not to say that there isn't petty theft, but the same can be said about almost everywhere in the world. Saying sketchy is a huge stretch.

The food store is Super Value Cable Beach. If you want more vegan type and international variety try Solomons Fresh Market Old Fort Bay. There's no shortage of liquor stores I promise you.🤣 But 700 wines is a good spot for wholesale items.

We went to Baha Mar for the day while at port during a cruise for the waterpark, man was it beautiful and my son loved it but my wallet did not like those prices at the resort. But I would totally go back again while at port.

Because you're an idiot!! While you're there being salty, Americans and Europeans are buying land in The Bahamas like hot cake and building their retirement homes. You're missing out. Yes there's not much to do near the downtown Nassau area but the new cruise port fixed that. And The Bahamas is more than just Nassau, Atlantis, Coco Cay, and the other cruise owned islands. In all honesty if the only way you've been coming to The Bahamas is by cruise ship, then you haven't seen or experienced anything just like me when I traveled via cruise ships. I decided to ditch cruising and fly in and my experiences have been a thousand percent better because there's more time to explore and meet people on your own away from the "cruise arranged tours". You're totally missing out on The Real Bahamas. Come by plane and you'll find that fliers have wonderful experiences on average and if you ditch Nassau and go to Exuma and Eleuthera, the heaven on Earth scenes will change your life!!.

I much prefer the old airport buildings where my Dad worked for Bahamas Airways in the sixties. One Sunday in 1965 (I was two) we drove over there to see why the Goodyear airship was parked there and lo and behold the Beatles were filming Help. Crazy times considering my Dad and his brother were at school with Paul and George at the Liverpool Institute.
