All inclusive is all inclusive. I pay a lot of money not to be bothered. That includes tipping. I expect to not tip at an all inclusive.

was there over Christmas holiday E-Gates not working, or no signage saying so. It was empty when entered immigration, then filled up as other planes arrived the whole area was full everyone using the booths. Also the TAX that you pay on leaving was none excitant even our Resort had no idea what I was talking about.

My first time there the guy blocked our path and forced us over to his table and he was like oh yes your resort is apart of ours just $200 I can upgrade you to our sister property that is way nicer and was showing me where it is…. I just told him no and my friend walked away. Like sir I work in the time share/travel industry and you are not with our resort. Then the taxi/shuttles are aggressive. One guy was trying to insult us and get us to use his cab. Like I’m not going to spend $150 to get to my resort now with you when you called me an idiot basically for wanting to wait for my free shuttle from the resort is coming in 30 minutes.

Big changes food was disappointing very few places to eat, no entertainment. To me the video is misleading, the breakfast was nothing like that and the most amazing thing is there was no hot water in our room for two days.😢

So any alcohol bought in duty free will be checked by customs

I agree you should always tip when you can and quite frankly the amt you are talking about pale in comparison to what US expectations sometimes are. The question is all-inclusive resorts vary. I have paid as little as $300/day for a room at an all-inclusive resort and as much as $900/day. Some of the extra cost is justified by the amenity and food differences but I believe one of the biggest differences I've noticed, and justify the extra expense for, is the standard level of service. It begs some philosophical questions. Should I tip more at the lower cost resort because they are likely receiving less due to the amount the hotel is receiving? Should I tip more at the more expensive resort because the service is so exceptional? Should I tip less at the more expensive resort because you are already paying a significantly higher cost to the hotel specifically for the service and amenities? I know if you are paying $900/day for a room an extra $20-25/day isn't a lot but does it really make sense to have to tip on top of that huge cost? I know it is kind and generous to tip and I almost always do but I have to admit it doesn't feel quite as right when I am paying a lot to the hotel for those service levels.

we asked our RIU resort agent about this and was told it is hit or miss. He said usually there is little or no delay in getting through everything.

Man, I hate these resorts that are such a long drive from stuff

My passport is valid for 180 days upon arrival but it isnt for departure. I need to know the ticket that you get from e gates on arrival. Is that what gets you though security on departure or do you scan passport again at e gates. Or does security check your passport again or do you just show departure ticket? The video just kind of cuts off explaining about the ticket

Against my better judgment, we've spurned Cancun and will be heading to Punta Cana this year in October. I've been there once, but all I remember is security screening me for drugs and explosives. 😅

If the e-gates are down, ask if you can try them. This is what happened to us, and they worked, and we were able to bypass the regular lines.
