You are spot on. That word "mistake" is terribly misused. It means doing or saying something wrong because of neglect, or ignorance, or faulty judgment. People too often use the word when a person does a wrong deliberately, knowing the nature of what they are doing, and are well aware of the circumstances in which they do it. There's no mistake involved. It's a vicious, evil choice, not any sort of "mistake."

She should have gotten a year or more. Its gross in general, but during a pandemic, this isn't a joke. That could have been life threatening. My boyfriend had cancer and went through 6 months of chemo. We had to be SO CAREFUL of what we did, where we went, who we interacted with, during that time. I wish people knew more about how cancer works.
