Swizz has some heat. His early production is fire. His new stuff is pretty tough too. The song echos with nas goes.

this song is not from 2001. it came out in between god's son (2002) and street disciple (2004). part of the second verse was used for a braveheart song called, twilight from there album bravehearted (2003)

lol Nas was fooling around with oochie wally lol...But he doesnt have to be having battle lyrics in every single song. You can take a chill pill from time to time. we know what he can do for 20 plus years lol..Legend

They can't make the same lame excuse about this one tho, because Nas snapped on this one. These lyrics are 🔥!! And Oochie wally was fun, I didn't let the haters tell me me otherwise.

I been around a couple of times/ know how things go/ I dealt with them on diffrent occasions/ the samething come in diffrent stages/ so when they arrive or pop up/ I move right past as if its weightless/ meaning it won't intervene the thought process/so I can levitate to more important topics #gas

@OfficiallyMOB True. That was at the time period when Puffy was out and the whole "shiny suit" era. Nas figured to stay relevant he had to adapt his style to that, but everybody knew that wasn't him. Plus you have to remember he was still like 24 at the time. He saw all these dudes out there making money and figured that should be him too. Looking back on it, it was a mistake, but we can't act like it never happened.

@OfficiallyMOB I like his lyrical stuff too, but every now and then it's not a bad thing to listen to his flossing tracks. I mean there is that side of Nas too, whether we Nas fans are willing to admit it or not.

@OfficiallyMOB I'd say '97 to about 2000. In that time period he dropped The Firm, I Am, and Nastradamus, then the QB's Finest CD. All of those have been questioned by critics. Once '01 rolled around he dropped Stillmatic and most people said the real Nas was back.

Fresh dressed like a million bucks. Saw my ppl in the club i slid in and grabbed a cranbberry vodka. Raybans on with a fresh cut diss what millionaire strut. Out in the bay i heard they like to go dumb. My neighborhood is struggling i told my homies to keep their heads up like pac said and always overcome the odds. Life is what you make it no one can make you successful but you.

@jblaze024x thats why you like it more cause it was a more commercial CD meaning less lyrical content. thatst why i dont like it near as much as his others

@OfficiallyMOB Well he certainly was doing alot more commercial stuff by that point then he had been doing and that was him trying to fit in with the Puffy's and the Jay's of the world who around that time ('97-'99) were dominating the charts. I always say tho, had the original I Am double disk not been leaked and it dropped as intended, nobody would have ever started that Nas fell off crap. The source did a preview of it and rated it 5 mics before it even came out.

@Antrizzle2009 naw far from it cause even in that time he made some real hip-hop but altered teh beats for the audience like "hate me now" "nas is like" and the actual song "Nastradamus". never did i say he lost his spark cause even then he still gave us teh real.

@Antrizzle2009 i agree with that cause i am was dope as fuck to me. I just think Nastradamus was his softest record. thats the only one i grip wit. I am i know was still raw cause to me New York State of mind 2 is harder than teh original. Nas never fell of he was just in a ruff patch between 98-02 imo
@OfficiallyMOB14 жыл бұрын
@Antrizzle2009 you realise flow doesnt mean lack of lyrics right? you mean more "commercial" i suppose but as far as teh other side of nas. that was teh Nas that almost got his career ended by jay-z. ya know teh "oochie wally" Nas. am i saying there's a problem with it, no. im saying its not the nas that became a living legend and definitely not flattering to what hes really made of.
