I got one of these when they came out also I'm 55 years old now but I used to play the pads I didn't really press the buttons much had lots of fun with this thing
@controllerforce_50East Жыл бұрын
Wow!! I didn't think I'd ever see one of these again. I was recorded making my first beat on this thing back in 86'. It is bad ass when amplified playing through monster subwoofers. The audio from a laptop or phone doesn't do this thing justice. Luv it man.

I got this machine for Xmas 1982. Played it for years and loved it. Not sure what happened to it but I wish I still had it. Just for nostalgia I downloaded some free samples to put in my Volca. Lofi percussion heaven.

No lie.....I was digging through a box I had not touched since I moved here 10 years ago.and holly cow there it was. My Synsonics Drums. I used mine at times while dj'ing. Bought it cause I saw another club dj use one. Mine looks like I never used it. Even my 30 year old Techniques 1200s are in imaculate condition. This is one of the best toys Mattel ever made. No cappin. About to put on my headset and beat the hell out of it. LOL

you can still use it as a display stand for your Mattel's Masters of the universe collection. no kidding, there's always good use for some lo-fi drumming. especially in the experienced hands of HardtekStudios. 👍

i used to want one of those like mad when i was a kid. My dad bought me a Pearl Electronic Drum kit... I just wanted a drum machine. Needless to say the pearl didn't see much use and my mum was glad to see the back of it. Shoulda bought me a cheap drum machine dad ;)

I just heard about this thing about 10 years ago! Talk about asking for pizza and getting Chef Boyardee! No disrespect to the canned chef!

I was in a similar boat. I wanted a dedicated synth, but all my parents could afford was this. I was not a drummer. Didn't want to be a drummer. But this lil' guy turned me into one. It used to be my main kit until my parents bought me a Simmons SDS-400. I then used both together with the Mattel mostly used for hi-hat and some tom work while the Simmons did everything else. For all it's cheapness, it still has an incredibly deep ballsy tom and kick sound. Thank God for analog. Gotta dig mine out at some point and cause some structural damage to the house. :)
@RileyELFuk5 жыл бұрын
They were cool. I've had two over the years. I'm still not sure what happened to either. I tended to play them on the buttons too, as the pads could be a bit hit and miss.

Can anyone confirm what type of 9v power supply they're using on theirs? I bought one of these off eBay and it turns out that the battery port isn't working at all and for the life of me I cannot find a 9v power supply that fits this unit. Bought one of those adapter sets and everything. So frustrating.
@doyoudigworms14 жыл бұрын
I know I'm a little late to the party but the power supply that worked for me was an Archer Universal AC Adapter. They used to sell them at Radio Shack. You can still find them on the bay.
