Those house beats always had something special. In that first pattern, with the typical bass and hi-hat in such an ultra-straight pattern, I knew something up up with the congos & shakers but never could put my finger on the trick. Thanks for showing us the power of selected precussion swinging outside the main drum patterns. Is that swinging the reason to use the 2 drum machines?
@kristofersknesis7 жыл бұрын
hmmmm that is a great point. you couldn't do this on a single drum machine, like tr-8, but if its straight beat is combined with a shuffled beat of another machine... magic happens. gotta try it out later tonight.
@Niersteentje6 жыл бұрын
I think you could, provided one machines can generate all of the sounds. Shuffle is not applied to 1/8 notes, only to the 1/16 notes in between, hence the kick nor the open hihat would be affected in this particular beat.

Techno is acid house. In this vid anyway. And no no no (uncle Rodger impresion), you cant just use normal piano and call it house you got to be more specific. That’s Ítalo house not normal Chicago house. They use modified synth, Italians use just electro piano with house beats.

@thelateraledge7 жыл бұрын
Play a chord with an organ patch sound and sample it, trim the initial start off it so the sample plays later in the recording then add your fx. You can also experiment by sampling the chord at the highest octave so when you trigger the sampled chord at the lower octave range there are more artefacts/grain in your stab than if you had sampled it in the octave that you wish to play it in.
