Im speaking as an outsider here who observed nasty crew and the grime scene from afar in the early 2000s...Marcus Nasty reminds me of the Kray brothers. I heard many stories about him suggesting he was a racketeering bully. In addition He had a group of brothers who loved and respected him, as a result he was feared in the ends and was difficult to take out as a result. Only police had the means to remove him which they have done. I will go as far as saying if he didnt go inside when nasty crew gained success, he would have stifeled the careers of all of your household names today (Ghetts, Kano, jammer etc), bullying them all into oblivion.
