Old? Charlie was 59. He was definitely rough around the edges to look like that at 59...especially when you consider the photo of him used in this video had Rex in it, which suggests that he was in his mid-50s when it was taken. His age doesn't make the crime less abhorrent and evil. I'm just saying that the dude looked like he was just a couple years shy of 100, which is weird af.

@djkinetic2020 No offence but you don't know what Hell is like. 'IF' it exists the only ones who do know are dead. I'm an Atheist and don't believe in such things as Heaven or Hell. There 'existence' is used by organised religion to control people. You can find Heaven or Hell in life. If there is such a thing as life after death i believe it's more likely that we'll exist as sentient energy without a form. Akin to sci-fi films where minds are downloaded into cyberspace. That 'may' be possible one day but after death it's more likely that we exist as sentient energy that can explore time and space. It's either that or eternal nothingness. But nobody knows!!

@@LilyAmongThorns hell is a Christian fairytale that was copied over from other religions to integrate them better, like they copied many other things. Even if you're a Christian, it's still a fairytale, it's not even mentioned in the Bible, except some later translations when it was more ingrained in the culture. And those translations describe "dark underground places" and "fire", the whole "separation from God" idea is very recent and has even less basis, it's just a popular new talking point for the Church. Hell is not what you think it is, either.

I feel like this is one of the cases where most of the family and friends did everything they could to try and de-escalate Amanda. 1. She talked about harming the kids-the friend told her parents+ the parents went through with keeping the kids with them. 2. Amanda constantly disparaged Sean behind his back, and Sean KNEW about it because their mutual friends told him. 3. The friend wouldn't let Amanda back in her house after being released from psych. Kudos to those people!

Paul Runge was an "interesting" choice of serial killer for Rex to befriend and idolize. Runge's wife, Charlene, is thought to have participated in at least two of his murders, and likely helped to lure other victims to her husband. Sadly, Charlene received immunity for her testimony against Paul, even though she was, imo, almost as evil as Paul. It seems like Rex fancied Amanda as his Charlene - a comparison that Amanda must have perversely relished and embraced. I've no doubts that she would've helped Rex kill numerous people, had he not done the world a favor by killing himself.

Only pointing blame that he should be charged too. Of course he will if he doesn’t die. Sean came so close to death yet he got a second chance at life in prison. Not feeling sorry for him at all he got what was coming to him. He didn’t dodge a bullet. He let this psycho woman control his life. What is this fascination with Natural Born Killers and the like.. I looked it up. Charlie was 59. Wowzers. That doesn't make the crime less abhorrent...I'm just saying that he's *very* notably younger than his photo would suggest - especially when you consider that photo was likely taken years before his murder...which would put him in his mid 50s.

The murder victim was only 59, and the murderess was 26. I thought the woman was older than me from the interview video but I'll be 39 at the end of the month, and when my father died at 58 having been ravaged by cancer, he still looked young enough to be the victims grandson, so I can only assume that life is very hard where they live. I'm not an American but I do know that the lower classes over there have it very, very hard.

Being as old as you're suggesting the gentleman was, wouldn't mean he was a good person so that the had gone through anything. He could have been quite wicked and caused many issues. There's a saying that the good die young and I think that can sometimes be true. A lot of people who care for others and are nice get abused to death by selfish people taking advantage of them. Stress has a much more detrimental impact on the body and health that people give it credit for.

There was a time when EWU was making content that was met with mixed reactions from the corner of KZbin watching niche true crime/-adjacent channels. And the internet being the internet, I remember seeing both hate comments about the video’s format, content, or script writing and, occasionally, actually helpful suggestions. Rather than be discouraged, which I know I would have been, the EWU team just came back better and better each time. I remember when I would only click on an EWU video if I’d already reached the bottom of whatever true crime rabbit hole I’d fallen down. Now, I’m subscribed to multiple of their channels, get notifications, watch all of their videos, see a new video notification and click IMMEDIATELY. Kudos, EWU team. Thank you for your incredible content, even then, and especially now.

Based on the photo used in the video, I thought Charlie was at least 95 years old, if not just just shy of a 100...but, as it turns out, he was actually only 59 when he died, and probably in his mid-50s at the time the photo used in the video was taken. I'm just about 8 minutes in and I certainly hope that EWU corrects that and that there is an actual picture of Charlie somewhere in this video. UPDATE: NO pics of Charlie??? @@gail242 I'm being objective. His extreme and imo notable degree of aging doesn't at all mean that he deserved anything that happened to him. I feel like that goes without saying. No defenseless or innocent person deserves to be wounded or killed. However, that doesn't mean that Charlie didn't look insanely ancient for his age, such that it's something that's objectively noticeable in a way that is difficult to ignore. I'm guessing Charlie was sick and not doing well...which is not only sad, but also makes his murder that much more senseless, since it doesn't appear as though he was going to be around much longer anyway, God rest his soul.

If you *really* wanted to know you can request that information (it's called discovery and depending on state can include everything from interrogation tapes to autopsy reports... NOT that you'd want that. If the crime happened in Florida, it will be extremely easy (but you'll have to pay a fee, so if u are broke, not *that* easy). Other states will vary in difficulty. I heard some states will only provide you with a transcript and not the actual video footage...but again, you will have to pay a fee for it. Google it if serious. I think you'll have to fill out a FOIA request tho, not sure. I wish I could give you the specifics, but if you are THAT curious, there may be a way. I had these 2 kids in the elementary school i was employed with for years. They came to us after the murder/trial from a neighboring school (likely as a type of new start.) Very sweet sweet kids. (Haven't watched this whole thing but from the other show(s) on Amanda they never mentioned the daughter so not sure if she's mentioned here yet.

When it comes to the appropriate punishment for murderers I feel like it's actually quite simple. If someone wants to die then they should go to jail until they die. If they want to live then they should get the death penalty.

Death penalty cases have 23 hr a day solitary confinement though. That is such a miserable way to live. I would like solitary confinement for all murders and then yes, what you said.

They should at least give murderers the choice between life in prison or the death penalty. Either way the idea of rehabilitation is out the door. I'm surprised at how many murderers take plea deals to take the death penalty off the table. I would take the death penalty over a life in prison is long as it was done quickly and I didn't have to wait on death row for 30 years. I guess it's hard to tell unless it was really on the line. As biological beings humans have a strong imperative to stay alive.

I think we're going to need a completely separate video to address the number of questions that I have regarding that "blond girl" she talked about towards the end....did they ever find out what happened to her?? That's certainly a starting point for my questions 😳

My fiancé was murdered on May 2nd 2020 and the case was originally handled by dirty detectives working with his murderer. The detectives were caught but evidence had been destroyed and now they’ll never get her for any degree of murder. If she shows up to her court date, she may be charged with telecommunications fraud. Hopefully if she’s convicted of that, they can go for “a death was caused while committing a felony” and she could be charged with manslaughter. EWU creators, if this case is ever solved, I’d be so curious how the murderer and her accomplice would act in an interrogation. I’d be shocked just to see her sober.. But honestly, I have no positive expectations.

The inflated sense of self among a lot of people online is mind-boggling. I am surprised how many men are duped by very average women. A person like her pursues people that she can control, and who won’t question her. There is a very toxic street and online culture that can lead manipulative people and vulnerable people into very bad situations. A lot of women like her sit on the pity pot and think about how life has wronged them and how unfair it is. Newsflash. Life is not fair or just and it is how we react to situations that determine our direction or meaning of life.

If you ever needed to know the psyche of a school shooter, you've got some classic examples here - despite popular belief, it isn't just because of bullying. I would know, I dealt with really bad bullying and I knew other people who had it almost as bad - the way those people, actual victims react, isn't to go kill random people, or loved ones, or whatever this maniac's real goal was (I don't care) - the thought process of an actual victim, if out of malice, is almost always only directed at the person responsible for the bullying, or people close to them. People like this woman are being bred by our society in the western industrialized world, whether it's intentional or otherwise (and I suspect in certain industries, it is intentional, but I won't go there in this comment since no one would read it anyway) - all the things politicians try to make the problem aren't the problem, though, not even close to the core of it (like guns being made out to be the problem, distracting from the myriad of actual problems resulting in increased violence) ... for instance, I think social media, as well as the mainstream media, are a huge part of it - which would also make a lot more sense when one considers how those politicians only ever seen to make decisions to make problems worse (well, certain politicians with certain agendas..) I think there have been people like social engineers and whatever other similar fields there are, who have been well aware of what certain things would do to young minds for decades - and this information is utilized by people who not only want power, but want to keep everyone else "in their place" (below them) - we already know there are numerous in virtually every government's employ, and a lot of the "bad decision making" is simply made to look like incompetence - I really don't think it is. These politicians seldom have trouble sticking to a canned response, and all one needs in Washington is a script and plausible deniability / the honor system, which we're all expected to handle them all with... haha...

What a bunch of nonsense, she's clearly a psychopath who does not have an ounce of empathy in her. Her apologies to her mom was to manipulate her or for attention. Maybe she hoped her mom would question her so she could confess to her mom. Who knows, but it isn't being manufactured in people by outside sources. It's who these people are at their core.
