You'll most likely find that you'll need a self contained battery box. Like one of those plastic ones with the removable top.

I really want to do something like this with my 1991 Nissan Hardbody. 5.3L LS or 6.0L if I'm feeling froggy and a 6 speed manual, solid axle front and rear. No real lift to it kinda stock height so kinda low but level and very beefy with thick and wire tires. I love builds like yours as it makes me what to do mine so much more.
