Wow. The sentiment of everything, his facial expressions, half nostalgic smile, his look, the lyrics. The instruments of the background and the atmosphere they create. Simply astonishing, two and a half minutes of something that hardly fits in words

How absolutely stunning. In 1957, Nat King Cole had one of the highest rated shows on NBC-TV. It ended because stations in the South wouldn't run it, and because the show couldn't get a national sponsor. What a freaking tragedy of racism.

@ Electronics. Wrong! Nat King Cole was not lip synching when he sang "Autumn Leaves" on his NBC-TV show! The proof of that is that Nat altered the emphasis and vocal inflections on some of the lyrics in his TV show performance of that song from the way he sang the song on his record album!
@michaelbarlow66103 жыл бұрын
@ Electronics. But Nat did not make 2 separate studio recordings of "Autumn Leaves". The clear indication that he was not lip synching that song on his NBC-TV show was the extra long pause he made at the end of the song before he sang the last words of the song, ".....start to fall."
