I had a chance to meet Natalie Cole before she passed. She was very kind and gracious. But during that encounter, all I could think about was her dad. I was young when Nat died. He had a voice like no other and I still miss him. To this day, Christmas does not start at home until we play The Christmas Song! He meant so much to our family.

I agree with you. I was listening to Frank Sinatra and suddenly he heard a song without knowing who the artist was and he mesmerized me with his melody. the song was LOVE and since then I looked for who was singing and I kept looking for his repertoire and now Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole are my favorite singers. Nat King Cole was more complete than any artist!

This man had indescribably tremendous strength and courage to suffer in silence and maintain the type of class you don't see today despite all the racial fear and hate towards him. I wonder if today's young Black artists recognize the doors he opened for them.
