I think I saw this originally back in 2004/2005 and it pushed me to explore drums creatively in a way I otherwise would not have. Bombastic and energetic, funky and melodic.. this shit slaps.

Oh man, i remember this! Back in circa 2006 my drum teacher gave me a bootleg DVD of this event and i watched at home... My jaw was dropped, because i have never seen such drumming. This is how i "met" Mike Portnoy and after some searching, Dream Theater... That DVD was incredibly important!
