Okay, so I had to pause this for a second to say that while it may have been stressful that the realtor was speaking too fast for you, the fact that you surprised him when you said you're not Korean and needed him to slow down? What a freakin' compliment to your Korean skills (including intonation and accent!) if he didn't realize that at first!

nooo that ARC situation is so crazy! when I studied in Korea, my school didn't send me my visa papers in time for me to apply in my state, so I just entered as a tourist and went to the Immigration office to apply in person for a visa change. It took /maybe/ 3 weeks at most for me to get my visa and my ARC and they just sent me a text message when it was ready! I hope you're able to get it soon and that the move/finals go well!

This comment will probably be too late to be helpful to you, but I'm posting it anyways just in case anyone has a similar issue: If I recall correctly from my situation, when I first applied for my ARC they provided me with a piece of paper that basically could be used as a substitute for your ARC until the physical card copy arrives. The paper basically had my ARC photo on it along with the other info that's usually on an ARC, including most importantly my ARC number, which is basically your personal identification number. That number is what the banks/phone companies/etc are looking for. When I was getting my bank account, I just had that paper along with my passport, and they allowed me to use that to set up my Wifi/bank account/cell phone plan, etc. Since it sounds like your school applied for you, I wonder if they have that paper? If you went with them to the immigration office, which is what I had to do with my employer when I worked at a hagwon, then they might have handed that paper off to you. Anyways, all that aside, it's so bizzare that they would force you out of a dorm without your ARCs having arrived yet, since it sounds like other students were the cause of your problem. Why couldn't they submit the students who DIDN'T have problems with their applications first and get the process moving?? Why screw everyone over when just a few people made a mistake? Ugh.

I enjoyed this video so much! Even if you kept telling your viewers that we didn’t play this video to watch you do your presentation. Well, I did. I enjoyed every bit of being in awe at how well you presented information about lipsticks. I loved the scene when you were applying make-up and talking to us. Every bit of this video was a boost of dopamine. I’m surprised that you have been trying to get your ARC and haven’t gotten it. Korea is usually a culture of speed and so I’m surprised that it’s taking a lot longer. Merry Christmas!

Of course the housing situation was very distracting but how did the presentation go? I should probably follow you on other platforms too 😂. The only presentation I have given in a foreign language was in Japanese after I had been studying it for about a year. I had to memorize it word for word or I wouldn’t have gotten through it. I wonder how it would go for me now after 10 years. I think I’d end up using basic grammar instead of advanced grammar unless I memorized whole sentences which would be totally ok if the person judging me wasn’t a certified language teacher 😂. I hope you did well.

Hi, I was looking into the KU Korean Language School and was wondering if they have specific requirements for GPA or how good your grades are/were. I would love to study there but am curious because my grades were never the best in HS and I only finished a little bit of college (like a few courses). I graduated from HS in 2014 which was quite a few years ago and my GPA is rather old so I’m curious as to how their application process is in terms of how hard it is to get in. I watched your video about moving their and the application process but don’t believe you mentioned anything about how hard it is to get in.

Yeah part of it is that you have to book an appointment which, at least for my location, are all at least 6 weeks out. Another part of it is if you had KU submit your application on your behalf, they don’t submit it until October 💀💀 so it’s not exactly immigration that’s causing the back up. It’s the limited appointment availability of you decide to apply on our own and the delayed submission of applications by the school that led to my particular situation 💀💀

All these things made me extremely anxious at first, but now they’re not only a normal part of my life that cause no anxiety but they’re all also led to me learning new things, making life-long friends, getting better at Korean, etc. Don’t be afraid to try something new. It only feels outside of your comfort zone for a short while.
