Jackie Ward is the actual singer.

The Sixties were the best of everything. No time-period before or since can ever match.

That is studio vocalist JACKIE WARD doing the singing for Natalie. It's a pretty close match to Natalie's speaking voice.

The Lost Vocals YT channel does have a version (kzbin.info/www/bejne/gmrbgapurbeLnZI) where Natalie's recording is mixed with Jackie's and it is amazing how well Jackie was able to match Natalie's voice. That clip clearly indicates whose voice it is as it switches from one to the other.

Well, in the slow version of this song used earlier in the film, she does sing the introduction. In GYPSY, she did all her own singing. In PENELOPE, she did sing "The Sun is Gray". So, although it was rare, she occasionally did sing with her own pleasant albeit limited singing voice.

"The Outer Limits: The Musical!" No 1930s movie looked like that.

However, in 2009, an album was released containing all songs from the movie in Natalie Woods real life very own voice. I, unlike so many others do my research.

I would like to listen to that.

This is supposed to be set in "1936", and intended to represent a lavish production number from that period....yet it whispers, "1966".
@MKIVWWI6 жыл бұрын
True. But 1966 was one of the greatest years of them all (as was all the Sixties) so I'm not complaining!

Portions of Natalie's actual vocal track are blended in with Jackie's, and it's hard to tell where she begins and where Jackie "jumps in"...

This is all Jackie Ward's vocal.

@@dompy1 Yes, in the movie it's all Jackie Ward's singing. Yes, I agree. It's a far cry from Marni Nixon dubbing for Natalie in West Side Story.

anyone else hears a similarity and/or influence to the Queen / Freddy Mercury song: melancholy blues ?
