First off one reason for the banning of kinder eggs, the toy is deemed a chocking hazard, then if I remember correctly there is something with food safety due to cleanliness. Caramilk are made as solid, sucrose laden blocks which are laced with small amounts of invertase before being covered in melted milk chocolate. I'll numerate my thoughts because I have oh so many. First: Swiss Chalet sauce is nothing compared to St-Hubert's. Second: Ketchup chips are an acquired taste, I've never been a fan, but sometime you're just plagued with the need to eat it. Third: The question mark and the lock on the caramilk is from back in the day, the whole advertising around it was "How did they put caramel inside the chocolate?" and every ad was about how it was top secret and people trying to break into Cadbury's factory to find out. I believe they drifted away from this theme, but kept some cues for the packaging. Fourth: The aero is """"meant"""" to be put on your tongue and you have to wait for it to melt so you can feel the bubbly effect. But usually by the second piece you tire and just eat the whole thing. Annnnd fifth: As the Barenaked Ladies sang "If I had a million dollars we wouldn't have to eat Kraft dinner, but we would eat Kraft dinner, of course we would, we'd just eat more" truer words have not be spoken since.

Just a couple of things: He should have sent you "Old Dutch" brand for the ketchup and dill pickle chips because the flavour is WAAAYYY better than Lays. Also for some strange reason he didn't bother to send you any Hawkins Cheezies (they're kinda like Cheetos, but they are crunchy and taste closer to real cheese). The Swiss Chalet is better in the actual restaurant, making packet gravy doesn't always go so well. The KD is also better if you throw out that gross cheese powder packet and add a big scoop of Kraft Cheese Whiz spread instead. Another thing, if you ever get a Caramilk bar again, throw it in the freezer for a couple hours first before you eat it, it taste really good that way.
@j21745 жыл бұрын
I love Hawkins. I am originally from Peterborough, so Belleville (where they are made) is not too far away. So salty and cheesy. Yum.

Swiss chalet is rubbish. I don't know anyone that likes it save for one of my grandparents who has now passed away. I've been there many times across many parts of Ontario (work trips) and I've never had a good experience any time I've been there. Everything is dry, even things that cannot possibly be dry are dry. And the gravy and everything else have little to no flavour. Staff and service is always friendly and great when I've been there but the food is bad.
@gavinmarshall22285 жыл бұрын
@@Smiffew If you're ever passing through Montreal try Chalet BBQ at 5465 Sherbrooke West. They do wood-fired, slow-roasted chicken 100% right and have pretty fantastic fries and gravy. I think it's the kind of place that Swiss Chalet or St-Hubert stole their idea from.

If want to make butter tarts here is a recipe. This will make around 24 tarts. Grease 2 muffin tin and use pie pastry to make the shells. In a large bowl add 2 cups of brown sugar, 2 cups of corn syrup, 4 eggs beaten, and 1tsp of vanilla. Whisk until colour lightens then add 2tbsp of melted butter and whisk until butter is mixed in. Add 1tbsp of raisin to each tart shell. The pour the filling into the shells. Bake at 350 for 30 to 45 min. Depan them once they r cool enough to tough. And enjoy
