BALLET BASICS is back! This time we're looking at ballet movements usually performed in the centre. This series is for ballet beginners or anyone wanting to brush up on their ballet technique.
Today we look at arabesque position, attitude derrière and promenade en dedans in both attitude and arabesque. This is a basic introduction to arabesque, attitude and promenade for beginners.

I wonder if you might do a video exploring the differences between different styles of ballet? Our school has teachers with both RAD and Vaganova backgrounds, and sometimes confusion arises .. in arabesques it's particularly obvious, but I guess it's not just technique but also the whole teaching approach? Thanks!

Yes, the arabesques are different in both and many other differences too! Unfortunately I haven't ever studied in Vaganova specifically so I don't feel qualified to make a video on it. As I learn more about different ballet styles, I'll definitely keep this video in mind. Thanks so much fro the idea! :)
