Yes James. I agree with you completely. These are NEVER The Old Songs. It is new to our children. Thank you for throwing a light on this aspect. I wish the Lord will revive America. 'In God we trust'. Amen.

I also love the classic hymns of generations before the gospel hymns--those by people like Charles Wesley, Isaac Watts, and so forth. It's another kind of hymns that are not generally known in the gospel/evangelical tradition. Think Episcopal or Lutheran.
@szephaniah67954 жыл бұрын
And James, let me tell you that Natalie and Josh are the part of the revival that has begun in our own hearts. God bless them immensely with spiritual blessings and all the earthy way too.

Time winnows out the songs that dont resonate for whatever reason, both sacred and secular. It has been said about many of the gospel hymn authors that “their piety exceeded their poetry.” (Id credit the source, if I could find it again.) It is indeed a blessing that some are getting another chance under the hands of not only a technically, but also spiritually gifted, performer.
@palref4 жыл бұрын
@@0459RanRan Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. I read somewhere that over 11,000 hymns are being used in the church today. I do know that the hymnal committee of one newer hymnal looked at over 6,000 hymns before making their selections. Charles Wesley, Isaac Watts, and Fanny Crosby all wrote several thousand hymns each! But I've found through the resource of hymnary.org there are many, many, absolutely wonderful hymns that have fallen into disuse. I regularly resurrect them in my church.

The words are still coming to mind while listening to you play, and when they don't I can whistle along. haha. Thank you so much. I bought several copies of this hymnbook called "Sing to the Lord" (has hundreds of hymns in it!. Put out by Lillenas) hoping to get a Sunday evening hymn sing going in our church but couldn't get any interest in it, at all. Surprising. Thanks for keeping them alive! I can't believe how many of these you know how to play off by heart! What a wondrous thing that is!

Quisiera pedirte tocar un canto muy especial en este tiempo de cuarentena que no podemos reunirnos con nuestros hermanos: God be with you until we meet again.
