She seems to already be overcome with emotion even before she starts playing. She is a very very exceptional pianist, an exceptional musician, and a wonderful interpreter of Rameau. She has given me insight and appreciation of Rameau.

She plays so beautifully, it’s sad to see her under so much stress. I’d like to think this would be something she enjoyed doing as much as we enjoy hearing it. I’ve see this many times, and I’m always distressed by it. Genius, it seems, is often burdensome. Hope this is an exception for her enjoyment.

Does anyone know the name of the last piece that starts at 17:00 after the Sarabande to Rameau's Suite in A minor? It doesn't sound baroque it sounds like something written in the Romantic period. I think it is so beautiful.
@ekissin10 жыл бұрын
Schubert/Liszt : auf dem Wasser zu singen. You should listen to the original version of this Lied by Schubert!
@visualdog10 жыл бұрын
Wow! Thank you so much! I've asked my music group but no one knew. I intend to research and buy this piece. I'm glad I was close when I guessed Chopin, Liszt.

I don't think she pulls off the piece. It's a bit muddy, and the melody gets lost here and there.

Does anyone have a playlist for this video? I know that the Rameau Gavotte is toward the middle, and the last piece is the Schubert-Liszt song "Auf dem Wasser zu singen". But I am unsure of the rest,

TiticatFollies Sorry that you had to wait four years for the answer to your question, The piece of music that you heard in the beginning is Gavotte and Variations. The sounds that followed are known as IRRITATING NOISE, There is no justification for their existence.

Does anyone know wich piece by Rameau is that?
@thiagofloyd10 жыл бұрын
***** Thank you Mr. Perez! but do you know which suite is that?
@thiagofloyd10 жыл бұрын
***** thank you again, sincerely. I'll have a look at Natalia's CD.
Why didn't you identify the damned thing? Most people know it as "Gavotte and Variations," although it has other names. Personally, I like it much more when it's performed on a harpsichord.; in fact, after I heard it for the fist time, I went out and bought recordings by at least five other harpsichordists. Howevr, I always preferred the performance by Wanda Landowski. As to the second piece, the one that started around 17.17, it is total crap . There was no justification for having written it, and certainly none for imposing it on us. It's complete garbage. Delete it, for God's sake.
