'Natalya Abuse': Funny Ways To Die - GoldenEye 007, for the Nintendo 64. A quick compilation of funny ways for everybody's favourite computer programmer to die in GoldenEye 007. Featuring Natalya, with deaths ranging from the glitchy, to the downright comical.
I could have included many more clips, but narrowed the compilation down to the best inclusions for this video. Hence the 'Funny Ways To Die' title. Bear in mind, this compilation was put together via KZbin Editor, with a bunch of pre-recorded videos. For some reason, my emulator was acting up, hence the fuzzy graphics when using a weapon at times.

I have included at least one death of every level where Natalya is a free-roaming NPC who can be killed, and therefore cause a Mission Failure. This obviously does not include Streets, where you have to reach the end in a certain time limit to catch up to a kidnapped Natayla, and Cradle, where she appears in the ending cutscene. The levels featured are :Bunker 2, Statue, Archives, Train, Jungle and Control.
Please note: I do not hate Natalya, or any other female protagonist in any other videogame. It's more like a grudge towards her. Anyone who has played GoldenEye 007 on 00 Agent in the levels where you have to protect Natalya, will know what I mean.

I always enjoyed crushing the soldiers with the tank and blowing Boris up with the grenade launcher when I played this game as a kid. Guess that makes two of us. XD

My friend's dad briefly didn't want his son to hang out with me anymore, after he happened to be watching us play one day, and I was running through the "Facility" level, waiting for the scientists to put their hands up and start wobbling, and then either pumping rounds through them, or tossing in remote mines and blowing them up, etc. I remember him vaguely nervously saying something like, "Um, aren't you supposed to protect those guys? They have their hands up", and I was just like, "Na, it's a trick!" lol. I think he thought I was some kind of budding maniac.

It's pretty awesome that you can actually kill Natalya on Statue and Archives _during_ those missions and still complete them, as long as you finish them before her body has faded away. The game apparently defines her death as "her body no longer exists" rather than "she got shot and killed just now", at least on those specific missions.

You can technically do this on any stage involving Natayla, provided her body doesn't disappear before completing the level. Some instances are easier then others however...

@@AntoRetroGamer Yeah, I have managed to do it on a few stages, although sometimes it seems a bit unreliable - I once got "Failed" right after I shot her in the head on Archives, but I guess this was probably because she faced me when I shot her, so that she went all "I am getting out of here" right before she died.

My fave was if you used a grenade or timed mine when exiting the archives, so it blew up after you jumped out the window but before it faded to black. Then when Bond is running out, Natalya's dead body is lying on the ground instead and fades away. This also works against Trevelyan in Cradle, the bomb had to go off after you shoot him off. His dead body would float down still instead of writhing.

So the reason for that is because they wanted only certain objects to explode IE: Barrels/Certain crates. Anyways, due to some restriction on either memory or development time they found it was near impossible to only make certain objects explode. That left them with a decision of everything exploding or nothing exploding and they chose everything explodes because of course that's the choice you make. On that day the legend of explosive office furniture was born.

I simply used the All Guns cheat to have timed/proximity explosives for the first two. Proximity mine for the first, Grenade for the second. Simply lay a mine or grenade in the right place, and if timed correctly, should detonate and kill Natayla. The cutscenes use the in-game graphics when played, so anything timed or proximity explosive is live and detonates if triggered as it would in normal gameplay. The last one is done via the Domino Glitch. I have another video demonstrating that in detail, so click on the card that appears in the top-right of the video at that timestamp, and select Alternative GOOD Endings. The description will give all the details you need in how to pull it off.
