Our condo balcony transformation on a budget is finally here! We have transformed our small patio into a beautiful oasis with IKEA outdoor furniture! We made sure that this extreme balcony transformation stayed on a budget and rental friendly for 2020. We are so excited to share with you guys our extreme makeover and transformation of our balcony into an amazing, beautiful and functional space that we can use. We DIYed pretty much everything, so we were able to make our space into a cozy and comfortable outdoor oasis with a gorgeous garden, a dining area and lots of storage on a budget.
Condo living here in Vancouver, Canada could be a hit or miss sometimes. We’re so lucky to have a beautiful deck and we wanted to make it feel like an outdoor living room. Utilizing small balcony spaces while living in the city is essential. We felt it was time to transform this concrete-heavy balcony into an urban city garden. We are so excited for you to see the before and after! We hope that this inspires you!

Great video! I just bought the Ikea grass yesterday and was having issues clicking the pieces together. Even with a hammer. Any tips that you guys can pass on?

We tried using a rag or a cloth for pressing. You'd still have to align and snap them though but you get a bit of relief from the cloth 🙂 Hope this helps!

Hey guys! This looked like a fun project! When Nat was relaxing with his feet up, an idea came to mind about the layout of the furniture. I was wondering if Max would be able to rest with her feet up and then thought "why not just use the bench?!" If you move one of the chairs in place of the bench (with its back against the divider), then just push the table closer to the divider and the other chair with its back against the window, the bench could fit lengthwise against the railing and both of you could put your feet up on it! This is assuming that the table flap would mostly be kept closed to allow for easy moving about. It's probably a little too late in the year to enjoy the outside (with all the rains), but maybe it will work for next spring! :)

Guys really wonderful!!! 😁😊 I wanted to buy artificial grass but I heard cons about maintenance such as , mosquitos underneath, moisture, maybe ruining the under tiles , super heat attractor. Looks amazing i have also big balcony and wad thinking doing the same thing. Any suggestion about the above mentioned rumor problems?? 🙏🙏🙏. Do I need to be cautious about something or you place'm and thats it forever

That's awesome! Fortunately we have a good drainage system on our balcony so we're confident that it won't hold water for mosquitos.☺️ We think it can hold up rain and shine but It's not recommended for snowy weather. We would say... Do it! IKEA has a great 365 day return policy. You can try them out and after a while if you don't feel it. You can always return them☺️

Turned out pretty& peaceful..i have my coffee out there..have collection of Cross out there ..a few lovely plants..my kitty was in her little cushion cart covered w old cloth last nite..soo cute..i felt inside( it was my precious Mom's old tea cart i inherited ) so i put it out there in corner w sm doggie cushion soft! & draped tentlike to match sheers anyway tryin like crazy to fix up w what i already have around house..u know....added a old lamp & some led candles..old chair& little plastic table& chair. All covering s white looks matching...porch is also covered w fiberglass roof semi transparent..& partially framed in w chiken wire...i just have a pretty green curtain for door" ..turned out cute ....ty f listening....💜

Hi Natasha! We bought 6 pack of deck tiles and 3 pack of grass tiles 😁 After laying it out we just had 1 extra grass tile and we decorated the excess space with white rocks😁

I was wondering what you were going to do with the bare spaces. The rocks were genius! Your patio looks wonderful and inviting. Add some lights and candles, will make it perfect at night. @@NatandMax, you can hang them right along your balcony, or along the top of the divider on the sides of your balcony. I have the exact type of balcony with the view of the CN Tower. Hard to give up! Can I ask you, what type of cappuchino machine do you have? It looks super easy to use. ☕
