FINALLY! I compare Natasha Denona’s Metropolis to her beloved Bronze palette. I was dying to see how the copper like shades in Metropolis compared to the tones found in the Bronze Palette. You definitely have the shades to create a bronze goddess look from Metropolis, but ultimately I feel the palettes are different.

They’re nothing alike. The bronze one only has warm tone browns and there’s no 1 brown that is the same to a boba brown

I am absolutely loving these videos, and I really like seeing you dive into some of these old palettes, especially Metropolis, which is still what made me fall in love w/Natasha Denona's formula. I honestly think that while you can make a similar look w/Metropolis, there's a depth and earthiness to the tones in Bronze that I just love. Both palettes are absolutely stunning.

Thanks for yet another FABULOUS, useful, & artistic comparison video, Alicia😘. This is the one I was waiting for, & that blue-green eye? Mwah, GAW-geous, *chef's kiss*, she's Linda Evangelista😋... IMO, I think we should take "Bronze" w/a sense of artistic license. To my eye, the palette leans more copper/rose gold than "prototypical bronze"; though the inclusion of the green reflects ARE certainly a clever allusion to bronze metal. Bronze metal is an alloy of primarily copper & tin, w/other metals/elements added in for their individual properies (e.g. strength, tensility). Depending upon the alloy, it can appear more brown, copper, rosy, or golden in tone. As it ages, the surface of bronze oxidizes & patinates, & the patina can vary in color from just a deepening/browning/blackening of the original tone, to shades of red, blue, or as Alicia mentioned, green. That "verdigris" patina is so sought after, that many foundries & artists treat NEW bronze w/acids to create it. Under normal circumstances, it can take decades for a patina to form. On the other hand, Palladium & Rhodium are elemental, "white"(silver-toned) metals, that are exceptionally rare & more expensive than gold....Tl;dr, just a bit of knowledge from a fellow science, jewelry, art, & eyeshadow nerd. 🥉🥉🥉

Natalie! Thank you for this much appreciated breakdown! ⚡️🤓 I agree that the overall color story leans more copper/rose gold. But I also see the varying degrees of “bronze” in terms of the chemical changes the metal can undergo. And I see how Natasha wanted to represent that spectrum fully in this palette. It would’ve been killer if she had included that “Verdigris” shade 🤤 Ppl would probably have been thrown off by it, but I definitely would’ve loved it! Maybe she has that planned for a possible bronze mini! 🙆🏽‍♀️

@@aliciaarcher I would LOVE a minty-turquoise green duochrome, w/a gold or pink shift, named "Verdigris" in a Mini-Bronze. I think it would be a beautiful complementary pop w/all of the rosiness in the Bronze palette. I would also love to see a true, browny-bronze metallic in a mini.

Metropolis is also just a perfect palette to do an all matte look with as well. The creamy texture looks so good when packed on the lid

Metropolis is my absolute favorite palette thus far! Would love to see more videos on it since the love for it died down a bit after so other releases from ND and several other brands. Kind of bummed it's not permanent, but I knew what I signed up for when I broke down and finally bought it. It gave me what I first felt when I had gotten the Aeris palette a while ago just before it finally was discontinued, which is how i ended up falling into the ND hole in the first place. I combine Metropolis frequently with Biba, Sunset and, PMG MS Subliminal. I do think Bronze is gorgeous, but it doesn't hold my attention much just because i've personally burned myself out on palettes with similar color combinations. And when i do want similar looks, i'm at least pleased with what I do already have in all my current palettes to make similar looks. I also think Bronze is slightly friendlier (color story and budget-wise) for others who have been wanting to try out ND, but were waiting on a palette like it before taking the plunge. OMG. BIG YES to delving into Metropolis and doing a whole series of looks. That palette is so diverse. Its so beautiful. I think of you took your 1st orange look and layered it with pure or even azoic you would get the Bronze palette look. Like you said the bronze palette is the terracotta but with more brown. That is in the Metropolis for certain if you are willing to layer and combine. Love all your descriptions and techniques. X

I pulled out sunset...and I’m loving the combinations..it would be great to see you do something with it. Doing some research in metallurgy... bronze is an alloy, about 80% copper. Copper oxidizes with a green patina. Therefore, the green shift makes sense. Upon looking at bronze plots based on actual metals s...she is exactly right. Metropolis is definitely more reddish, more rust instead of copper (Gain with the metallurgy’

Loving the comparison vids and also the notion of totally thrashing these palettes for max usage and understanding. My metropolis sat unloved as I felt a bit overwhelmed, but I dived in last week and the more I use it, the more I love it. Still want the bronze tho!! It's a week til it hits the UK and the suspense is killing me!!! 🤣

I have both palettes. I loved this video. I'd love to see more looks with Metropolis. I should use it more often, especially for the investment. Sometimes i just get overwhelmed with the amount of palettes and new releases. It's true we really need to play more with what we already have. I'm inspired to try that green blue eye look tomorrow. Couldn’t sleep and was happy to see your video posting. I agree. I need to use my palettes more and slow my purchases down, but then I see the beautiful IG post for PML or ND and think whatever it is I need it.🤣 I purchase Devine Rose I and II, already had I, but gave the new one to my daughter then bought the ND bronze and literally have done my makeup 3 times🤦🏾‍♀️. Telework has made me lazy on makeup use. Also, wearing face masks when going out. Oh, that’s what would be great if you and the team did tutorial on doing your makeup for wearing the masks. I found that I put on the mask go in the store, then when I remove the mask I have foundation, bronzer and lipstick on the mask and have to touch may base.
