It is a neutral gold palette.... but it is very much suited twds yellow undertones as a neutral palette, which you'd be surprised how this is missing in so many other brands from luxury to drugstore. As someone who has a light-med skintone w yellow undertone, none of ND's other palettes appeal to me as neutral palettes. I Need a Nude is too cool (can make me look sick). Biba is too orange. Retro is too mauve (looks like bruises). Bronze and Sunset r really too orange and dark. My Dream is fun, but too dark for everyday. Glam is too cool. Yucca is more of a colorful palette rather than everyday, but has yellow undertones. Other brands likewise tend to make neutral eyeshadow palettes for pink undertones, warm-reddish undertones, and sometimes cool olive undertones, even tho having some yellow is very common.

The new golden palette just reminds me so much of the Nubian earth palette along with the warrior palette from Juvia’s Place. And I think that’s what has me torn between buying and not buying. Natasha Denona does have a beautiful collection I’m just not natural glam girly.

This may sound too negative, but am I the only one who thinks Natasha Denona keeps putting out extremely similar palettes? Unless you are truly a working makeup artist and doing editorial work, no one will notice the difference in these shimmers on your eyes. I think it's fun to watch Allie's artistry, but I think it's out of control for the average person to keep buying the same shades over and over. Edit: I think we need to come to terms with watching the constant hauls and new products and be realistic about the fact that creators are making income and want us to buy no matter what they say, while we are spending money most of us should not be spending. I am being real and honest here and hoping to help others like me enjoy the content, but don't get sucked into buying one more palette you'll hardly use.

I partly agree with you! I choose my palettes wisely, in the sense that I want different colour stories and as little as possible repeat shades. Last palette I bought from ND is the Yucca, that one is so special and very different from her other palettes. The I need a nude and this new golden palette seem similar, except that the I need a nude is more rozey/taupe. But my opinion is maybe biased because I’m more into colour lately. So I really prefer the original gold, because I love the high impact gold shades plus the teal/blue! This one is too boring for me. But I know many people like these colour stories.

Each ND palette definitely has a theme, which is understandable. The color stories are cohesive and make sense. That said, I will wait for the mini version of this. I'm sure we will be able to get the same look with a mini, for a lot less and storage won't be an issue. Besides... Too many browns for me. They make my eyes look tired.

Imo she ruined what made the original palette unique and desirable. It was those dupchromes and greens and the mustard tone that made it not just any other old neutral palette, and now its just that. Doesn’t even read as “golden”.

The first thing I thought of when I saw this was my Naked Honey palette. As much as I love the ND formula, I can pretty much create the exact same look with the Honey palette. I do think the Gold palette is pretty, but I wish there were a couple unique shades instead of all neutral.

Hi Allie, love your content :-). I just bought the ND mini Retro palette ( I know, a little late to the game). I didn't expect this, but two shades are exactly the same as two shades in the ABH Nouveau Palette!! ND 60's (green grey) = ABH Nouveau Palette Liberty (green grey), and ND Vintange rose = ABH Nouveau Palette Fleur.

I don't mind repetitive shades of something I will use daily (I Need a Nude) but I don't need this many golds, and browns make me look tired. Love this palette without the blue colors. The color scheme is beautiful on dark chocolate skin. It's one of my favorite schemes. However, I have 3 of ND's warm palettes, including the face palette, so I probably won't pick this one up.

As someone w a yellow undertone, it's actually hard to find a yellow undertoned palette that works as a neutral, everyday palette. Whether high-end or drugstore, "true neutrals" are usually too cool and warm tones are too orange (heavy on the red pigment rather than yellow). Most luxury brands tailor to pink undertones as well. 🍯 In the past it seemed like there was only UD Naked Honey for yellow undertoned palettes that could work as an neutral palette for ppl w yellow undertones. CP came out w a few nice ones like Wanna Bee and C-3PO later, but those lean a bit more colorful yellow rather than everyday, yellow-undertone friendly neutrals. My fav neutrals so far are CP's all matte quad She's A Natural quad (now discontinued) paired w a shimmer. Second fav is Essence's Nothing Compares to Nude. Quality is mostly good, but undertone is mainly why I love it. I'm not in a rush to get the ND palette, but will prob eventually get it. I am glad they took out greens bc cool greens make me look dead. I wish they would've kept that mustard shade from the Gold palette tho. It could've replaced either Aria, Teak, Flesh, or Pana. ⛅
