Natchez Trace Fastest Known Time - Day 1

While RV camping my way down to New Orleans with my wife, I found out that my friend John Hardin was attempting an FKT on the 444 mile Natchez Trace in Mississippi. So my wife dropped me on the Trace to pace John for the final 5 hours of day 1 of his attempt.

That’s awesome you were able to make it there. Hated to see that he had the foot issue and had to hang it up. Great job filming a portion of his journey and getting a great day in yourself!

It’s unbelievable how much a road section can beat you up, I was sore like I ran a 50 miler, so I can’t even imagine how he felt! I know John is capable of getting this FKT and I hope he can go back after it again next year. Thanks, AJ!

Oh man! The body fails us again! So easy to have one of our... however many ligaments/muscles/tendons fail on us. Good thing you got there the first day! So Cool that you can just plug in with a dude and run/walk 20+ miles with him in a day... I'd be following along in my vehicle. Or at least on a bike! 🙂

Ha, yeah a bike would have been nice! The roads really beat the body up for sure. It was really nice to finally get to meet John…the second Fkt holder on the Sheltowee Trace, which stood for nearly 5 years!
