He's really got his delivery down. That's his strength. He elevates the material with his charm, his careful deadpan, his deprecating manner.

Guess it's obvious I don't come from money either (however I picked raspberries visiting at an aunt's place as a kid), but my point was that I still swim with my eyes open too but *do not get the joke* and it's killin' me to sit with it let alone admit it. 😆 Please pull me out of this misery? 😂 I've been swimming in virtually every kind of water situation. (All silliness aside, not counting flood waters. Heart aches for the hard hit southern USA and other regions recently being inundated across the globe). I grew up swimming with eyes open in salt water, then in chlorinated pools, fresh water swimming holes, ponds or lakes. What is the "eyes open" part about? Why is this going over my head? I'm not from money and also not a bumkin without reference points. Can be damn dense though. 🙃

Yup, even people who aren't particularly smart. Got me through enough studies to bag 2 A.A.s, and an A.S. (plus a couple special studies certificates at one of the community colleges). Then due to the opportunities in community colleges, I went on to transfer to earn a B.A. and a graduate credential. If not for community colleges, I'd have never gotten to a university, let alone would I have ever graduated from one. Curious, extremely, and interested, widely. But I'm not all that sure about "smart". A respectably high GPA doesn't always indicate a matching measure of intelligence. Diligent, and persistent, yes.

Nate’s comedic timing is perfect for SNL. He should be a regular on SNL, could use him in a lot of skits.

I bought a ticket for his 10/2 show at the Wynn LV but it got postponed til Jan. Was disappointed but now I know the reason why. Glad he wasn't sick or something. At least I got to see his new material on this SNL youtube. He's my fave!

5:17 For those watching this from outside the US, when he said "see if they got nerds in that gas station," he wasn't talking about guys who are nerdy, he means the candy called "Nerds." 😂😆

Last year I treated myself to a night at a local big venue just outside Wichita Kansas, having split from my wife. I sat alone but Nate has a way of making you feel like he’s just telling you some hilarious stories in your living room. It’s easy to think of Nate as a friend! And a good one too. (Years ago I decided that a real friend is someone you wouldn’t mind being stuck at a laundromat with for 3 hours. Does that mean, according to my own criteria, that Nate is a real friend? Quite possibly.)
