@floatinggoose91976 ай бұрын
I've met and talked to Nate a couple times. I can tell you, he absolutely does not have a ton of respect for him. Out of his own mouth, at Nick Diaz academy with no cameras and in front of my wife and kid : "He's cool because when he fights he really tries to fight and get a finish, he doesn't try to win on points and he respects that." He also feels that he (Nate) won the 2nd fight, and that the UFC rigged the win against him to keep promoting him. "He ain't even that good, Even the 2nd fight when I beat him they didn't wanna promote me or give me no love so fuck him and fuck them" This was..... Probably 2017, hadn't mentioned anything about Pettis. He literally said he ain't gonna be in the UFC for long.
@Defort-jd8xe6 ай бұрын
@@floatinggoose9197"He's cool because when he fights he really tries to fight and get a finish, he doesn't try to win on points and he respects that" Thats probably the nicest thing Nate said about a competitor ever. "He also feels that he (Nate) won the 2nd fight, and that the UFC rigged the win against him to keep promoting him. "He ain't even that good, Even the 2nd fight when I beat him they didn't wanna promote me or give me no love so fuck him and fuck them" Obviously he thinks that way. Its like this with every close fight, fighters always believe they won.. and its also obvious why Conor got so much more love from the UFC.. it was Conor that made this fight. Nate was part of it. Conor drove the bus.. and the UFC loved every moment of it because they gained more with Conor than with any other fighter ever. Nate is jealous. He should be happy that he was part of this battle and this journey. Literally every other fighter back then would've dropped everything to fight Conor.
@floatinggoose91976 ай бұрын
@@Defort-jd8xe Yea I'd say there's some respect there, not a ton. Conor would be cool hanging with Nate, Nate would not be cool hanging with him. The nicest thing IMO Nate has ever said about an opponent is Gomi. Nate really respected that guy. As for the jealousy, yea. Not gonna argue against that. Nate is one of my favorite fighters in the sport ...... But man it was hard to hear him say he won the 2nd fight, whereas I don't think he did. I would never disrespect a guy who stopped training to take a pic with my and he talked to me for like 20 mins, it was so cool. But yea Nate only feels one way on things, and that is a non negotiable view.
@Defort-jd8xe6 ай бұрын
@@floatinggoose9197 What I was trying to say is the context of what happened between Conor before and how they talk about each other now. Nate never beefed with Gomi, like he did with Conor. Conor and Nate are really similar and thats why it worked out so well. I always hoped for a trilogy. I totally buy the fact that Nate is like that in private. He's the kind of person that will show you kindness and respect if you do the same to him. People with a Mexican heritage often seem kind of angry and aggressive.. but they're very open minded and are the first ones to stand up to give an old lady their seat on the bus. Its all about respect.

The way nate took on Conor was just a madness. Conor genuinely liked Nate leading up to the first fight. Conor knew he wasn’t going to get into Nate’s head. Nate just retaliates with worse antics which doesn’t work for Conor’s mental games. Never thought it was fair that everyone accepted the 2nd fight as conor winning the overall war between them. 3rd fight is a must before they get too old.
