Yes! Mikes death wasn’t badass at all. Any of these would’ve been better: -(the scene you suggested) -Saving Jesse at the end of the series. -“I am the one who knocks!” -Visiting Gretchen and Elliot and threatening them with the “2 best hitmen” -Confronting the bullies who were making fun of Walt. Jr. -Running over and shooting the drug dealers who were gonna shoot Jesse (the one who shot Andreas brother). But the Mike scene? It’s not that I’m even biased towards Mike, it just shows Walt as a coward.

Yeah this top 5 is awful. The real top 5 would be something like 5 - Gassing Emilio & Crazy 8 4 - Tread Lightly 3 - Running over the guys Jesse was about to kill 2 - Sending Jesse to kill Gale 1 - Massacring the Nazis and rescuing Jesse. The only reason the Nazis is above Gale is because in that episode he gets a little bit of redemption before he dies.
@stevepreskitt283
@stevepreskitt283 23 күн бұрын
@@Synchronised01 I'd replace #5 with, "Stay out of my territory". Walt dispatched Emilio/Crazy 8 because he had an unexpected opportunity in the face of abject fear and self-preservation, not because he was a badass. Otherwise, great list, and I think Walter's unflinching execution of the surviving dealer in #3 was just fricking chilling.

Yea its definitely a defining moment in the show but it's far from badass. He panicked, shot Mike out of impulse, and then asked him for forgiveness. This series is full of incredibly satisfying moments, from exploding Krazy-8 & what's-his-face, to Walter choking Krazy-8 to death as he desperately tried to kill him with the plate (though now that I think of it-- what was his plan after that??? Starve to death in the basement or get wasted by Jesse? Lol). But that final scene where he kills all those evil bastards, then tells Lydia she's fuckin dead (with the added personal dig at "that stevia bullshit you're always putting in your tea", that whole shit was over the top satisfying 😍

@YourMum-u4v
@YourMum-u4v 18 күн бұрын
@@Sile1nce76 Nobody criticized the writing. They criticized the character, in-universe. You can call Sauron evil without saying he's poorly written. You can call Batman selfish in his pacifism without calling him the villain. Walter White is a selfish, cowardly man whose shooting of Mike was preventable, undeserved, and short-sighted. This was an impulsive decision that Walter made because he feared being ratted out by the 9 guys after Mike left the game and refused to take the advice to get going. If Walt took that opportunity he could have made off clean with tens of millions of dollars and his family would be almost entirely intact. At worst, the Whites have to leave Marie and Hank behind with the vacuum salesman's family bundle. Walter White's negative traits are compelling. We like that. We're happy with how it was written because we relate to and feel for Walt, and can see from his eyes why he does the things he does even when we disagree with them. The show is amazingly written, and Walt is no exception. But Walt is also a cowardly, selfish egoist.

@BEEP640
@BEEP640 11 ай бұрын
Watch the show it will be the best thing youve ever seen but the reason the men were killed was because they could leak information which would result in the DEA finding out who Walter or heisenberg is and busting the whole operation. He contacted someone to organize murders inside the prison so the men could not leak any info. There is much more story to this but thats essentially it

You should really watch the show. It's so good. He killed all those people in jail to tie up loose ends. They knew who he was and what he did. I started watching the show because ,like you, I seen a clip then I asked online why something happened.

All of the musical choices were amazing. Even the songs that aren't anything I'd listen to normally lend so much additional power and intensity to their respective scenes. For example, that wacky rock track that plays when he tells those wannabe cooks to stay out of his territory. I'd never listen to it on its own, but it so perfectly captures the mood and vibe of the scene. Then there's Fred Astaire's "Pick Yourself Up" playing over the course of the GRUESOME prison murder scene; that's something I would listen to naturally, but pairing it with this absolutely ruthless string of horribly graphic murders-- it's so light and lilting and cheerful, which makes the scene so, SO much colder in my opinion. The perfect show. I know some people prefer BCS, but it's just not the same. It's a great series, but it just doesn't possess the same range, diversity of interests & emotions, and WILD levels of character development that BB does. And this is coming from a complete Mike & Saul stan! 🤌

I have always felt that Mike was the baddest man in the show. Fine, he got killed by Walt but evolution wise he was still miles ahead of Walt. Walter was majorly a guy with a bruised ego and he sought redemption everywhere in the name of his family. Walt's biggest strength was his (almost) constant comraderie for Jesse Pinkman.
