I wonder if she harbors resentment towards her family members who she sees as not having to work as hard or carry the same burdens. Either way, it does point out how we often take for granted the burdens that are carried for us by others without us considering how we would manage without them or in their place. It's easy to say someone is doing a bad job or not doing good enough, but many people will criticize without questioning how well they would be able to do in the circumstances and under a continuous expectation to perform.

IDK, I mean, she put all her self worth in what she was able to do for the family, the ultimate people-pleaser. Later, she seemed ashamed to admit that she cries sometimes. I definitely think she was depressed, anxious, and repressing a lot of emotions, but I didn’t really get the vibe that she resented her family for it, or at least wasn’t to that point yet. Isabella, on the other hand, I def think was harboring resentment for others not having to be “perfect” and make sacrifices for the family like she had.

Mirabel's helping by letting her get some of it out, but it's not enough, because Luisa almost immediately falls right back into the same pattern ("I realized it was putting me behind." Which is probably why she started losing her powers ("The donkeys were HEAVY!")

Yes, and in the song Luisa is the one who has to fight like a demigod because she has tied all of her self-worth to her superpower. Throughout the movie she's mostly in the background, but almost always carrying things for others because everyone's so used to having her do stuff for them. Wanna play the piano? Have Luisa hold the piano in the air while you play. Donkeys escaped? Luisa can carry them back. Want to move the church to a different part of the tiny village? Luisa can move the church. And when she's done she'll run to the next person calling for her.

I love your comment that this song is very deep, because it really is true. Of all the songs, I feel like this one is deepest and most relatable. I know that 'Bruno' is most people's favorite, and it is very fun, but this song? THIS sums up so much of the movie's theme in a very real way that is just so relatable. So, the song is named Surface Pressure, using some synonyms we can say Surface Compression; I know pressure is other things too but in this scenario in the song it is visualised as compression. What's the opposite of compression? Tension; pulling. Thus, the opposite of Surface Compression would be Surface Tension, which is a thing that happens mostly in liquids.
