I feel like it's hard for me to be focused on God, all I think about is my future husband (I'm single btw) but it's this constant need of having a 'best friend' that will be always there for me and share my life with him and be there for him. I notice that this is not only taking my focus off of God but also I'm idealizing my future husband. Did this ever happened to you too? How did you prevent it and regained your focus on God?
@miapugliares5 жыл бұрын
think about this: by focusing on God, you are doing what is best for yourself. God will give you an amazing man if you worship Him. God will always be there for you and He will bless your life if you stay loyal to your faith. Do these things and try not to worry about a future husband so much because God has already worked it all out. He has a plan for all of us. Anything you worry about, Jesus has already figured out. Lean on Him and you will be in good hands:)

I’m right there too, friend. It’s something I think about a lot - for me, to the point of idolatry. Biblically the only thing we can do about this is to surrender these thoughts and desires to God, and to seek Him first and foremost; and not because then He will give us what we want, namely a boyfriend / significant other / spouse, but because He desires to know us fully and to satisfy us with Himself. It’s not easy!! It’s a lot of inner struggle and wrestling through prayer with God, constantly giving Him those desires (bc I know I fail time and time again with the same sins). But knowing Christ is the greatest love we could ever know, more than even the most godly spouse could ever do for us (Philippians 3:7-21).

My biggest antidote that I've found for envy and discontentment with my life is intentional thankfulness: God, thank you that I have a good mattress to sleep on, and an air conditioner, and a beautiful home, and hot showers and amenities like hot chocolate, and a working stove and oven and washer and dryer and microwave and real toilets and running water and clean water and beautiful clothes and pets and vehicles, esp. dependable ones. Thank You for amazing people to work for, and the job you've provided, and nail polish in my favorite colors, and incredible friends, and freedom to worship You openly, and to tell others about you, and that I'm surrounded by believers. Thank you for my extended family, and thank you for the fact that all of my immediate family is alive and well, and that I found a cheap plane ticket to see my bestie. The list is endless when we start. Basically, realizing how good I really do have it helps me to stop wanting others lives. Also, limiting my time that I spend looking at social media and everyone's highlight reels has helped to not have an unrealistic expectation that I should be socializing and travelling and tan and drinking coffee and spiritually on a high/full of perspective alllll the time. I love you guys, and I'm glad you're doing KZbin! Your humility about not having all the answers and about your mistakes is one of my favorite things about y'all.♡

That was such a great topic & I know that envy & jealousy can creep in more as you get older bc you will start comparing what you’ve accomplished to how farther ahead others are. It’s so important to look vertical & not horizontal. And all of our wants & needs are already met bc God goes before us. God gives appropriate blessings at various stages in our lives. We may not have (fill in the blank) bc he’s not done preparing us for that yet. I don’t know anyone who actually walks with the Lord who could say their basic needs aren’t being met. Whenever I start thinking about a bigger house or a newer car I drive through a “bad” neighborhood or visit a nursing home. We have to find contentment & be generous in our giving to others.

Question for Q&A: “What advice would you give a male that’s in love with a girl who got abused in the past?” I found my way to Christ last year, and the Lord spoke to me about this particular girl at church. She works with kids and she’s in the worship team. At first glance she just seems perfect (at least to me). But every time I try getting close to her it seems as if I’m pushing her further away. Later on I heard her testimony and it made me realize that I should cool it with my approach. I used to be in the world... And I can tell she kind of likes me, but I’m still unsure wether to approach her again or just leave it in God’s hands and hope that she may approach me.

Great Channel and content! I have to ask you this question because it is a topic that often comes up and tends to hinder me from fully trusting in Jesus and seeing God as my Heavenly Father. Do you believe in Heaven and hell after the end of this life on earth as in hell being eternal torments and Heaven being eternal bliss and being in the presence of God? And that there is no return once you're in one of these places? This is literally the only thing that makes me seriously question the faith in Jesus. I would appreciate your honest view on this one. Thank you guys!

"Had some urges I couldn't hold back." And you got married at 24? Try being 37 and remaining a virgin (as God commands) while still having no one. Not being negative but ya .... it is confounding to me how some people can be so blessed while others seem to languish for years. Don't misunderstand, I know that God is the one who directs the steps of His children and it is quite a sinful, faithless practice to write what I am writing. It is hardly my place to question when and how God bestows blessings. I know the video was about not comparing and being thankful, but ya, it is a miserable thing. Then again, to quote Lewis, “I didn’t go to religion to make me happy. I always knew a bottle of port would do that. If you want a religion to make you feel really comfortable, I certainly don’t recommend Christianity.” Indeed, we are Christians not because it always makes us happy in an earthly, physical sense, but rather because it is the truth. There are plenty of wider, happier roads to travel and gates to pass through that lead to destruction. The battle goes on, as ever it does.
