Nate continues to impress me! His rant (which I welcomed) was spot on. I am glad to have such a powerful voice in the industry fighting for the majority of the population! Yes! as a mother of 2 young children is so hard to find stuff we can all enjoy and watch together and I don't have to worry about shutting off the tv super fast because they show something that is out of place. You are fighting the good fight and you have a lot of people who are appreciative and backing you. Keep it up! I 1000% agree that Hollywood is so out of touch and wanting to force stuff down our throats!

I agree Hollywood is making a lot of bad stuff. But Nate’s rants are hard to listen to for me. Bates needs to just say “Cut!” after 2 minutes. And the rant was so vague: let’s make movies for everybody. Does he think Hollywood hasn’t thought about that before?

I spoke with Butterbean about the possibility of coming to do a show in our small town's theatre about a year ago. When I told him it was a 60 seat venue, he winced and said "that's pretty small." I told him I completely understood and thanked him for his time. So imagine my surprise when I turn on today's podcast and hear him talking about performing to a hotel lobby. Unbelievable. All kidding aside, the invitation still stands, Breakfast! Hillsboro, IL would love to host you! The theatre now has a 200 seat room, and I know we could get you a sold out show or two. Love the podcast. Keep up the great work, fellas! -Matt Sands

I'm in Jacksonville, Florida, and I was at work during the eclipse. I was delivering mail, and it just looked like a cloudy day. The wind started blowing a little, and I noticed birds flying around and making alot of noise. I could hear frogs and crickets, and lizards were chasing each other around on the mailboxes(more so than normal). Then one of my customers was outside with her son, and she asked "would you like to put on my glasses and look at the eclipse?" I almost said no, but i said"sure!". And I'm so thankful she let me look! It was just a black crescent, but it looked way cooler than i expected! I quickly gave her glasses back, and told her how grateful i was! I'm so glad i didn't miss out!

Nate's rant about there being nothing for families to watch is so true. My husband and I find ourselves so limited with what we can even watch because everything has become so unnecessarily vulgar. We love comedy but it's tough to find comedians that are clean and actually funny. When we discovered Nate it was so exciting and the fact that he wants to create more stuff for our family to be able to enjoy is amazing. We went to his Be Funny tour in Sacramento and there were several couples in front of us dressed extremely modestly (I'm thinking they were Pentecostal or Apostolic), and you could just tell that they were just as excited as us to finally have something that they could go out and enjoy that was for them. Nate's comedy and ideas bring hope that maybe we can have more opportunities to enjoy, and we want to support anything that he does!

Nate's rant was great. I agree with so many points. I put on this show and Nateland comedy to escape the heaviness of the world. I don't have to worry about my kids listening in (other than them judging me for laughing at non-sense often. I appreciate that it exists. I do watch comics with dirtier material, and watch shows that are not kid friendly in the least. But I have 4 kids, 2 who are under 10, and it is hard to find things to watch that feel safe and good for all of us.

I’m loving Nate’s POV on what family entertainment should be. Having the family able to watch shows together and laugh is such an amazing way to create some wonderful memories. And yes, sometimes the kids won’t understand all the jokes, but there is something euphoric when as a kid you do understand and you crack up along with your parents!

It’s called the “entertainment industry” for a reason, it’s a business and at the end of the day businesses exist to make money. A lot of research has gone into defining demographics for a reason, and that reason is you’ll never make something for everyone. Making movies or tv shows is very expensive/risky and if you’re trying to make a product for everyone you’re truly making a product for no one and you will fail as a business. The closest thing you’ll find that’s entertainment for all age ranges is typically animation like Disney/Pixar, Dreamworks, Illumination, etc… these are multi-million dollar companies that employ hundreds even thousands of employees to produce highly tuned products that are designed from every aspect to try and appeal to the widest audiences possible. And even after all that development and testing they can still fail.

Blast Radius nailed it when he said that Nate being clean is pushing the envelope today since so few comics are doing it. If you go to your local comedy club on a random night almost every comic will be filthy. It’s so common that being clean and generally inoffensive almost feels rebellious. I love the whole Nateland vibe of funny, enjoyable content that’s for everyone.

Lately we have been watching classic TV shows like Gilligan’s Island, Home Improvement etc and our kids love them. It’s so hard to find new stuff that we will all enjoy. The rant was so on point. I fell in love with Nate’s comedy many years back after seeing him on the Stand Ups. I didn’t notice he was clean until he answered a question about it on one of the first podcast episodes. Since then, I’ve seen Nate 3 times and showed his comedy to my girlfriend, my parents, and my girlfriend’s parents that have all loved it and have come to shows with me. It’s a testament to Nate’s level of expertise and genius, but also living proof of his rant on entertainment. I love Nate’s vision! I can’t count how many times we have done things as a family that only my son likes because I could not find anything that would appeal to the whole family. Also, that comics on his show perform clean. I am starting in comedy at closer to Brainbleed’s age and was in a showcase that my friend who wanted to bring her 11yr old was attending. She reached out beforehand asking if it was suitable and I had to tell her that my stuff was fine, but I could not speak for the other comics. We were bummed that she couldn’t bring her daughter. There is enough stuff tearing families apart. It’s about time we give them reasons to get together.

I was at Brian's show in Fairfield. His show was FANTASTIC! In defense of Connecticut... that was not a great representation of the state. haha Then again, I did see Dusty when he was in Hartford at the comedy club IN A MALL. During Brian's show I was being rude and on my phone - but I had just gotten news my niece, who is out of state, was in a terrible ATV accident. I told Brian after the show why I was occasionally texting and of course he immediately offered to pray for her! I'm ecstatic to report that she is home and doing as well as expected. Will be a long road of recovery - but my sweet girl is going to be okay! Thanks for being kind comedians. You guys are the best!!!!

Yes! Yes! Yes! Everything Nate said about Hollywood needs to be screamed from the rooftops! And Hollywood needs to listen. I'm tired of reading the articles about the lack of audiences for movies - without the authors or execs ever coming to the conclusion which Nate has - STOP MAKING TRASH! I'd love to go to the movies again, I watch trailers all the time hoping something stands out and to look forward to - they just don't seem to exist. I've gone with my wife to see Nate live, and it was awesome. Hope to do so again. I'm looking forward to the new special! I've watched every one of the comics' specials I've been introduced to by the podcast - numerous times, and have become a fan of each of you guys. Nothing Nateland has produced has disappointed - hope his dream of expanding comes true. You guys are great, and what you have here is special. Keep it up!

Your “rant” on what is available for entertainment is so spot on! People making movies and TV shows right now are so far removed from the reality of most American’s lives that they can’t create what we want to see. I would watch whatever you create - a Nateland sitcom would be amazing! My husband and I don’t go to movies anymore and you put into words exactly why we don’t. We’ve only gone out to a couple of shows (no sports, no concerts) in the last 10 years - one of which was yours 😊 My mom (60-ish old grandma!) and I will be there next week to see you in Sioux Falls - thank you for coming! Nate shared about the fella falling asleep during his special. It reminded me of when my wife and I got to see Nate in Knoxville this past year. We adopted a little girl with some complex medical needs and spent over 200 days in the NICU with her and had been home for a few months learning how to best care for her needs when Nate came to town. Going to his show was our first real date/night out together in over a year. Several times during the show I looked over at my wife after a particularly funny joke only to see that she was completely zonked out. After waking her twice I decided to just let her sleep and enjoy her night out the way she wanted.

I was at Aaron's show this weekend, so I'm one Breakfast short of hitting for the Nateland cycle, having seen Nate and Dusty recently as well. At the show, there was a loud conversation between the server and the people sitting behind me that was super distracting, just as Aaron started his closing bit. It went on for about 10 minutes and they were clueless that the whole room was distracted and annoyed at what was going on. I got pretty frustrated, and turned around to shush them at one point, but all I could think of to say was "enough!" Unfortunately it didn't work as well for me as it did for Aaron at Nate's special. Despite the distraction, it was a very funny show! Thanks for coming out and hopefully that didn't leave you with a bad taste in your mouth for our city.

I know it’s a clean podcast but I laughed when Nate said he feels Dusty is the kind of guy that likes to pitch a tent when he’s on the plane. Aaron laughed in a way I think a lot of us do when we know we should not be laughing.

I can’t believe the other guys didn’t laugh, honestly. I get that its a “clean” podcast but if you can’t laugh at that, you might have swung a bit too far the other way.

I love the Hollywood rant. It is exactly the truth. I want to go to movies but nothing to watch. I was watching my wife and kids on Netflix and it reminded Me of that old school TV show you can just enjoy with your family.

Hollywood is fixated on converting people to their social platforms rather than producing products that entertain. Thank you Nate, in spite of your tremendous success your down to earth humor continues to entertain.

I love Nate's take on how movies aren't dead. I totally agree. Ps- absolutely love this podcast and love that I can listen to it with my kids. My 11 year old son has asked me to save a few episodes for our road trip so we can listen to them together.

Went to the Lafayette show. Talk about something you'd watch/listen to again. I always say that I can listen to Nate say the same thing 50 times, and I laugh every single time. Already told my husband we're going back to see Nate again, but I'm getting an entrance aisle seat - making a high-five my goal! :)

I think your comparison with the cell phone is spot on. Hollywood is trying to cater to pockets of people now, rather than a brood spectrum of the population. And, unfortunately, it means that the shows have to be peppered with things that only pockets of the culture actually want. Couple that with the extreme divide in politics and it makes it worse becasue politics are injected as well, further ostracizing audiences. It's incredibly frustrating and I appreciate Nate's take and his desire to want to highlight that audience! I'm so excited to see him in a month!

I just watched the Hollywood episode and saw the 40 yard dash footage for the first time. As a man with a few months on Brouhaha, I am very impressed with his running ability. Having not attempted to sprint in many years, recently my granddaughter's dog got out of the yard and I decided to give chase. Almost immediately I was aware that it was a poor choice on my part. My feet couldn't keep pace with my upper body and perhaps 7 yards from where my very masculine sprint began, and with the grace and poise of a newborn Belushi, I slammed face first into the pavement. The elderly woman across the street happened to be outside and came to my aid, making it just that much more humiliating. Apparently, however, the impact was enough to frighten the dog back into the yard. So, I call it a win. Bumbershoot is my hero...

I was just having a conversation with my husband about the exact thing Nate talked about. There is nothing being made that I want to see. Both Shows and movies. The last movies I enjoyed were smaller productions by comedians like Ray Ramono, or Adam Sandler. I'm ready to watch what Nate comes up with!

I was falling asleep in my seat at the Saturday special. Not front row but 6 rows back. It was less from being intoxicated and more that I worked at 5am that morning. I was also the guy that yelled out "Hey bear!" at the celebrity theater first show. In regards to the NFL game, we go hard in Arizona.

Totally agree with the rant.... My wife and I have a 4 year old and 2 year old, and we would always have the Office or Parks and Rec on while we were at the table eating supper. When our daughter started asking "where's Michael" after season 7, I couldn't have been more proud that she noticed.... But we realized she was understanding what was going on and it may be time for more family friendly TV that we could also tolerate. Full House on Hulu is where we are at now and we are all loving it. I told my wife, we need something like this now and I think Nate and crew have to be the ones to make it happen! So this was a very timely episode as we just had this conversation. Love the pod, keep it up. Also please don't judge us for having the TV on while we eat

hi Nate and guys! my wife and i have been fans for years, and we finally decided this december to buy tickets to your show for our wedding anniversary...only problem is, we had the wrong date, and just realized we missed the show yesterday😭my wife is obviously devastated and I am too (i mean seeing you would be great, but lighting $300 on fire is a tough pill to swallow)...i'm not asking for a refund, but if there's anything your team could do, that would be rad. (or a shout out on the podcast..she listens religiously, and i think she loves you guys more than me tbh.....but that's another convo) all the best, david

Nate gets it! Everyone here does. You all seem to have strong family values. We don’t want Hollywood’s agenda. We want family shows that you can watch with your spouse, with kids etc. It’s why the George Washington skit went over so well. Humorous and relatable for all generations. I do miss good movies at the theatre. I hope someone sees the need and you can bring that form of entertainment back into the mix and make a product that the majority of the country really does want.

I'm so here for what you're describing! You are spot on. When I was a kid I loved going to the movies or renting a movie with my family. There was always lots of choice. Now I can barely find anything I want to watch on my own, never mind that would be suitable for the whole family. Would absolutely love to see the tide turn on this, the same way it seems to be happening in the world of comedy.

Nate has had some epic ranks but this is by far the best and the most spot on!! I love this group so much and want to see more of what y'all are doing. I starting watching Nate's last special on Amazon with my oldest (he is 16 and a huge fan of all of you too) and my other five kids came in the room and I didn't care in the slightest. We are intentional about language too and the Stinks/Sucks bit made them all laugh.

I've been hearing references to "Nate's rant." I absolutely love his thoughts on Hollywood and entertainment. I don't see a rant, I see passion. It's inspirational to me to see someone at the absolute top still be so passionate in a pursuit of excellence. There are so many lessons to learn from him. I remember when he referenced Elvis giving everything for his final performance. I love the passion the BAND has for what they do, but also for people in general.

I have probably only commented on three YT videos in the 15 years I’ve been on here, but I felt compelled to leave one here. Nate, your Hollywood rant is 100% spot on- I love going to the movies but there is usually nothing showing that looks like it would be fun to see or something I could see with my family. The last movie I saw was a re-run of Spider-Man 3 (w/ Toby McGuire) on a Monday night. Not only was the show sold out but it received a standing ovation at the end. There were several families there and everyone had a great time, and without having to tense up in fear because there were no adult-only scenes in the movie. You are right- people want to get out and go have a great time (even if they don’t have kids), and most forms of entertainment that are being released are completely missing the mark. Thank you for this rant- I can’t wait to see how Nateland makes a big impact on entertainment for all ages!!
