I listened to the podcast this morning and was amused that Aaron played a nonexistent sound to mess with Nate and Barton. This afternoon my 13-year-old niece asked if I'd heard today's Nateland, and wondered if I had heard the high-pitched sound that Aaron played. When I said I assumed he was tricking the guys, she laughed and said that she could hear it with no problem! I couldn't believe it and listened to it again just to be sure -- sad to say, my 41-year-old ears could not detect it. Thanks a bunch for making me feel old!!!

I've been a folk since the end of june 2021, ans I'm happy to say that last week I officially caught up on nateland episodes, and the first one I ever had to wait to hear was for my home state, PA! My family is from philly, seven generations deep. Not only that, but I, too work at an alternative school (like vecchione used to) and teach middle school. Anyway. I'm 29 and could hear the whistle tone, but was annoyed when it sounded like it was happening again several minutes later, only to discover that I was hearing the brakes hiss on my school van as I pulled into a stop. Thanks for the laughs guys, I recommend you to everyone!

My favorite part of this episode is when Breakfast said "self-defecating". I'm pretty sure he meant self-deprecating. If not, I'm fairly terrified of going to his shows and I'm shocked that he's able to get a crowd to show up at all. Also, I'm 35 and can still hear that sound. It sounded like the noise old CRT TVs made for a minute or so after they were turned off.

In reference to the ringtone, I could hear it on the video. Also the Kroger near where I did my "undergrad" played a constant high pitch sound outside in front of the store to keep young people from hanging out around there. Older people didn't notice, but it always drove me crazy when getting groceries. It did work though, because no young people loitered in the area. Love the podcast! Feels like a hang out with friends every week. I'm looking forward to seeing Nate perform for the 2nd time at his show coming up in Pittsburgh. Keep up the great work Nate, Beach Towel, & Weber Dame!

I teach middle school. There absolutely is a frequency that I can't hear at the age of 44. My students were working on a slide show presentation on their computers. One of them was online and playing a sound so high that I couldn't hear it, but my students could hear it and started complaining about the noise. Being the good teacher I am, I took his computer for the rest of class. In frustration, he said, "Let's Gooooo." I said, "Folks." He looked at me very puzzled. 🤣 Thank you for helping me a better middle school teacher!

I’m from the Wayne and Holmes County, Ohio area which goes back and forth with Lancaster, PA as being the largest Amish community in the world. I have many Amish friends and people don’t understand how every ‘sect’ or individual church has completely different rules. One church may allow its families to have air conditioning and electricity in their homes, while another church doesn’t even allow their families have rubber tires on their farm equipment. Also two hugely iconic companies, Zippo Lighters and Case Knives are both from the small town of Bradford, Pennsylvania. Love the show, keep on keepin’ on fellas.

My wife recently got offered a job up in Pennsylvania and we have had times the past week or so where we second guessed that choice. I've had a little bit of anxiety about it as I've lived in North Carolina my entire life but I open up Spotify this Friday to listen to the new episode on my way to work and there I see the episode title. I took it as a sign that it's all going to work out because who would know better than the most average average American, Aaron not-a-grill Weber, and Barthonamoo? By the way, the name of the town is Oil City, but I pronounce oil the same way Nate does. What are the odds that people will find that endearing and not annoying? As always, loved the show, hope to catch y'all in Pittsburgh sometime... LET'S GOOOOOOO, folks.

The story about the cricket reminded me of a youth group hiking trip we took to Banff Canada and my group leader was our church's founding pastor. Love the podcast, it gets me through the horrible tunnel traffic of Pittsburgh three times a week without any bad words - muttered or thought. Also love the fact that it seems oh so very Nateland that the person you chose for the Pennsylvania episode lived less than a quarter of his life in the state, wasn't born here, and arguably lived in the least "Pennsylvania" parts of the state... but we will accept him nonetheless because that's who we are: kind, accepting hill-folk. From a certified Western Pa folk (so hill-folk that even into the early 90s when we went to my grandma's trailer the girls used the indoor plumbing and the boys had to use the sawdust pile out back. #1 only...we're not West Virginia.) Hello Folks, I'm a Paraprofessional for high school students and sit in on many classes with our special education students. My "expertise" is in history, physical science and chemistry. In Physical Science class we did the MHz test (Hertz is the measurement of sound.) I want to give Nate some ease... I am 43, and in class We did this experiment. The amount of kids that could hear what myself and the teacher couldn't was crazy. In your experiment I stopped hearing at 15,233 hz. However the same thing through my headphones (which is usually how I listen to you ) was 15,799 Hz! This was my experiment.. When Nate said he couldn't hear it?? I could but I have a feeling that is because its amplified through your audio software and headphones. Aaron is correct in saying that as you age your hearing gradually gets worse. I love the show, the banter and the three of you! Keep making everyone smile with all the nonsense! We all need a little more funny these days! Let's Go Folks!!!

NATE! You said no one yelled Let's Go Folks....... I yelled out "Let's Go Folks!!!' in Baltimore at the first show!!! Dude, I thought we had a moment. You pointed right at me. Then when you talked about your neighbor, I yelled out "Felix!" I was in the front row, too! My boyfriend was so embarrassed by me, he left his mask on. When I walked in to meet you were pronouncing my name wrong (which I adored by the way). I was so nervous I couldn't get any words out but "I...I...I sound like an idiot". you smiled and said, "it's okay". I said "I was going to bring you um um um your favorite candy." (I couldn't remember the words 'sour patch kids'.) And I gave you the Annapolis t-shirt for Harper. I saw the instagram video of her wearing it at your show. That totally made my day. Dude I need an on air apology lol. But the funniest part was when I walked out, I looked at my boyfriend and said, "what just happened in there? I blacked out from being so nervous. How stupid did I just sound? What did I say to him?" Anyway, I love you guys and look forward to every Wednesday because of all of you. First, I want to say how wonderful Aaron did on Howie Mandel’s “Don’t Sneeze on Me” comedy special. Very funny! Second, when Nate said the thing about checking his fly on stage, it made me think about the time I saw Luis Black live (about 10 years ago), and his opener had his fly down. The crowd made him aware of it and he turned around, fixed his fly, turned back around and with his hand over his face, laughed hysterically for minutes. The whole crowd was in hysterics. Once everyone composed themselves (opener included), he started his set.

Me too, really appreciate the menu time stamps. The intro music sounds like a talk sports show though. Nothing's perfect I'm sure. God bless.
I attended a Christian university for my UNDERGRAD that mandated chapel attendance 3 times a week. One of my buddies (Erik Roe if he’s listening) could make an absolutely perfect cricket noise SO LOUD that Nateland listener Matt and all age groups can hear it. One time during a chapel speaker’s message, the speaker made a terrible joke that bombed and in the brief awkward silence Erik made the cricket noise that reverberated throughout the holy chapel, breaking the entire auditorium into uproarious laughter. It was timed just right that the speaker didn’t realize what was happening and thought his joke hit extra hard that time.

I'm 36 and I heard it but it took a second to pick it up, but once I knew what frequency to listen for, it was a little easier.

Holy cow Vecchione just murdered the entire city of Pittsburg. That may be the greatest burn of a city ever….and I’d know, I’m from Memphis! This was one of my favorite episodes. Mike is super funny and had some great banter with Nate, Aaron, and Bobblehead.

I’m 51 and don’t hear high frequencies anymore. Had my hearing tested by audiologist and it showed the “age decline” for that frequency. Irony? Tinnitus still ringing at a “high pitch” just fine. 😶
