Real nice just one thing I’ve noticed is about 11:30 you show the extending couch (really smart idea) a little upgrade you can do is the white legs on the extension part looks a bit flimsy and wobbly, if there is space and time build (hopefully I can explain with clarity) as if you are making a picture big frame out of 2x4 with support beams down the middle (same direction as the drawers not like how it is now) and add wheels or furniture pads at the bottom. Edit: basically just turn the support beams the other direction.

If you stop by a garage door shop they can take a little tension off your back drop gate so it will not bob up and down I saw you put a couple rocks on the end to help keep it down. Awesome build love the truck.

@@the.desertcruiser I would actually argue that this is better than an Earthroamer! It's a much more thoughtfully planned out build with a more practical and spacious layout! Plus it definitely has more character, as it is built more for the individual rather than the same old average cookie cutter design that these big brand name companies tend to put out. And the biggest plus is that this probably doesn't carry the $million+ bloated pricetag that brands like Earthroamer have for what is, in my opinion, inferior quality compared to this. Obviously a lot of that can be attributed to the long hours of hard work and dedication that you guys put in by doing a lot of the build yourself but I'd say that it was 100% worth it, as you now have a beautiful home on wheels that you can be proud of and that you know completely inside and out down to the studs. Which is a real benefit when your home is mobile and therefore is continually being put through extreme stress and vibration that a traditional house on a foundation isn't subjected to and pair that with the reality of frequently traveling through and camping in incredibly remote areas. So it's definitely nice to have a thorough understanding of how everything is put together/comes apart and how all your systems operate. Anyways, wishing you two all the best on this new chapter of your life. Here's to making many new memories and safe travels! ✌️🌎🕊️

Thanks for sharing this job with everyone. I especially appreciate the extra care used to make everything as sturdy and long lasting as possible. The only thing I would done differently is using tempered glass glazed windows instead of acrylic. My best suggestion is to always cover them when not in use and to buy and use the best recommended treatment to polish and protect in order to extend the life of the acrylic. Happy Camping!!😊
@the.desertcruiser
@the.desertcruiser Ай бұрын
thank you so much! There aren't many options for windows like this, you either spend thousands of dollars for glass windows from Europe or Australia, or go with something like this. They are very high quality, much cheaper than glass and much much lighter. We had all of the necessary polish / cleaners to keep our windows looking good! Thanks :)

A ❤ beautiful floor plan and design features. But $1,700+ for a 4 cubic ft. Refrigerator/freezer is a bit rich. I built on a 2013 cab chassis Cargo truck and a 8x8x12 box keeping the barn doors adding a similar back porch with self designed Modular wall panels to increase my secure living space by 60+ sq. Ft. Stored inside the platform.

"With Earth Roamers or similar Unimog builds costing anywhere from 600k - 1Million dollars, the two of them set out to build a comparable vehicle for a fraction of the cost." as you stated 600k to One Million, where did you answer the biggest of all questions, how much did yours cost? I am thinking of doing the same build and need this information. What was your final "Fraction of the Cost" number? I am looking at used Roamers and Unimogs but found your video, and was convinced I need to consider this route. How can I get that information from you? Please and Thank You...🙂

Have you considered a plastic cowling for the front of the box to diminish air drag thus increasing fuel mileage? If you have standard vehicle insurance it allows full-time living like RV insurance does? It appears your rear exterior storage boxes could be moved forward 1'ft thus allowing you to gain more clearance for if/when the incline diminishes road clearance at the rear. My RV tankage at the rear is angled to provide this increased clearance.

Hi Cody, As you know, with any RV, the SHORTER the BETTER when DRIVING, and the BIGGER the BETTER when PARKED! So, with that being said, I have 2 questions: First, what is YOUR "OPINION" about the "IDEAL" LENGTH (Bumper to Bumper) for an EXPEDITION VEHICLE? Second, if you were going to build another EXPEDITION VEHICLE, with ONLY a 2-DOOR CAB, instead of a 4-DOOR CAB, how many FEET would be the "IDEAL" LENGTH for the BOX? Thanks, Tom
@the.desertcruiser
@the.desertcruiser Ай бұрын
hey Tom! Shorter is always better, what is the ideal length? That I don't know, but I do know our 28ft bumper to bumper has never limited us at all! If we had a 2 door truck we would have a 16' box without a doubt!

Amazing video and an outstanding very Smart box truck conversion 👍👌🥇. I watched hundreds of Van conversions and motor home buildings , done by both amateurs and professionals , I have to admit that this is one of the best if not the best I am sure of that 🏆🥇. Long ago , I reached the conclusion that I am going to buy my own box truck and do the conversion myself as per my own preference floor plan and usage requirements, then I started looking for relevant videos till I came across this Genius work of art of yours . I wonder how much is the cost for the truck , the Morgan box and the whole conversion ? (If I am allowed to ask ) You also have the best electric system that I came across, but will it allow you to get connected to an external shore supply of 220-230V like in Europe, or 240V like in Australia ? The water tank is amazing , like a dream for me , and I liked the shower unit and your multifunction sink for inside and outside usage . Your multi storage areas and cabinets are just unbelievable 👍👌. Finally, a big Bravo 👏 . Enjoy your incoming adventures. I wish you all the best 🙏💞. God bless you . One last question: will you be able to help me build mine , once I decide to start (I will pay for all your efforts and services of course) 🤔😉?

Incredibly awesome build.. Wouln't it make more sense to run 24V appliances, such as induction cooktop, water heater etc, instead of going through a giant inverter? Fun part about being in nature is you're away from the AC field from the grid, if you're carrying them with you in your trip that's kinda counter productive, but that's just my opinion : )
@the.desertcruiser
@the.desertcruiser 20 күн бұрын
Thanks so much! I honestly have never heard of a 12v or 24v induction cooktop, the water heater is 12v so there is no inverter required to power that. It simply runs off of our 12v fuse block...
