guys...I think I figured it out... we've been trying to decide who Steven would be singing the to if he sang ot, which character, probably a crystal gem, it would be. but we've been asking the wrong question. it's not a single character. the first verse is to Garner, the gem who's strength is nearly unbeatable. the Second verse is to pearl, the Gem Knight, defender of Rose Quartz. the refrain is to Amethyst, The unwilling warrior, the one who "never asked to be made." and the last chorus repeat...that's to the Crystal gems. The family of warriors, the defenders of Earth. Steven's family, teachers, and friends.

Everybody says this is either a song from Steven to Connie or from Steven to the Crystal Gems. I don't see it that way. To me, for whatever reason, this feels much more like a song from Steven to _Garnet_ specifically. That is, the Stronger than You reference, the fact that Steven seems to be closest to Garnet out of the three central Crystal Gems (He and Amethyst are tight, but I still think Garnet is closer) and that Garnet is their leader, the one who has final say over whether he gets to "try." On top of that, if this song was alluding to a fusion, this might explain why Steven's not getting the chance he wants so desperately; he wants to fuse with Garnet, and she knows how much of a _nightmare_ that can be for the unprepared. Either that, or her future vision is telling her that if he does indeed help them, he will _die._ Steven knows that, but he still wants to help them. This whole song is him trying to convince them to let him try, his safety be damned. Seems reasonable.

+SwellSeth Seriously, check it out. It's funny, dramatic, sweet, clever and kick-ass and it seriously does not get the attention it deserves. It's done by a girl who worked on Adventure time (in case you know that one) and if you like that, this is right up your alley. I'd say it's a bit more dramatic, but still as sweet and funny.

+Goku x Sephiroth Rebecca Sugar is the creator of Steven Universe. she worked on adventure time as you said. she also was a big part of Marcelline and even wrote alot of the songs. I think she wrote I'm just your problem, I know she wrote all gummed/warmed up inside, and probably others. maybe the fries song too, idk. so, yes, she is "kick-ass" and so is Steven universe. oh, on the topic of Rebecca sugar, she actually is working on adventure time and stakes that's upcoming. and get this. prepair your mind to be blown. she is voicing Marcelline's mom. *mind blown*

It was written by Rebecca Sugar one of people who wrote the best songs and episodes in Adventure Time and as the series goes on, it gets gradually better. So yes, it is a great series that is worth watching.

It is all the worth it. It is (in my opinion) the best animated show out there. The plot gets so good, as well as deep and saddening that it's amazing to me that it's on a kids network
