Join the Extreme Ice Survey (EIS) team on an expedition to South Georgia Island near the Antarctic Peninsula. This trip adds the Southern Hemisphere to a network of 43 time-lapse cameras placed worldwide on 24 glaciers. Capturing one photo per hour of daylight, the cameras placed on South Georgia will document the story of the island's melting glaciers.

Because for a brief moment in time, we had a perfect amount of ice that it was able to sustainably regenerate itself yearly, and due to human intervention, more and more ice is melting each year. Even if a small bit of surface level ice melts, it can be catastrophic as the colour of the ice grows darker, absorbs more heat, affects more ice and the cycle continues. I urge you to stop resisting the consensus of scientists who understand that we are responsible for this. Yes, climate changes with or without humans. No, we cannot pretend that we are not responsible for this phase of climate change.

Once there was a cycle of hot and cold, but now the events that would have cycled it back to cold again have gone. Never in the past has so much fossil fuels been dug out of the ground, one bucket fills one truck. Huge coal mines trucking the coal to be burnt in equally huge boilers to make electricity. When Buckets and trucks are not enough they use conveyor belts. In addition we are pulling oil out of the ground as fast as we can (that is considered good economics) to make the profits as fast as we (the 1%) can. This is true of every deposit discovered. Another difference is the vast forests that would have absorbed carbon no longer exist. So the CO2 is accumulating in our atmosphere to make a green house for us. Some here grasp the fact CO2 is good for plants, but that is where their thinking stops. Water is good for plants too, but go beyond what they need and the water will kill the plant.

The ignorance is nothing short of astonishing. The earth has gone through changes that are 100 times greater than some ice melting. Environmentalism acts as if the earth is only a 100 years old, then creates the hysteria that makes alarmists make irrational decisions based on emotion. The history of the planet is very important. Without knowing it, rash theories of doom are created. We are the healthiest and wealthiest we’ve ever been and humanity will continue to thrive regardless of the stupidity.

how to define a "better planet"? Intuitively, better means "good for humans". However warmer temperature can be good for many other species. If all lives equal, if it's gonna change, it'll change.
@MAJ0ROCEL0T
@MAJ0ROCEL0T 3 жыл бұрын
I know this comment is very old but that's not true. If anything a warmer planet will have minimal impact on us when compared to the rest of the animal kingdom. Animals are way more habitual in their lives and therefore lack the ability to adapt as well as we do as a society. If a certain plant dies off due to increased temperature, it can cause a chain reaction that kills every animal in the region. Plant dies, so rabbit can't eat, so foxes can't eat, so wolves can't eat, so vultures can't eat, so microbes can't eat, so plants can't eat, and eventually life dies. Humans can synthetically clone meat and artificially produce vitamins and nutrients, so we could adapt, albeit a miserable switch. Animals can't if their local resource dies, they can't pack up and move and they don't have the foresight to adjust to a different diet. Some will live or adapt for a time, but many others their bodies are designed through natural selection to only be able to handle very specific diets.

Yes, Wild Willy, in Antarctica. But more ice is not a good thing in an ongoing Ice Age. Those 2 little white things at the poles could become huge again. This nonsense that warming is bad, especially in our ongoing Ice Age is lunacy. Warming made civilization possible 12,000 years ago. And this crazy notion that our Modern Warm Period is warming too fast is also nonsense. 11,600 years ago, Earth warmed up +7C in 30 years (Al Gore says ten years), so our rate is puny by comparison. Life needs warmth, water and CO2, and you get more of that from Global Warming.

@@earldecker7760 sorry, i dont buy that thousands of scientists can independently get to the same results And even if you believe all the world governments somehow got together and agreed to cooperate to convince the masses (a job that compared to the amount of authority involvement is going really badly) its still not proof that there would be no consequences to terrafroming our own atmosphere many againts climate activism say "well its so complex that you cant make these batshit doomsday predictions" to which i say, yes, sure, absolutely, its really complicated, which is why we should not just change atmospheric variables and hope for the best

I partly agree with you. But it looks like you're missing some information. Trump is a globalist puppet just like Obama, Bush, Clinton and the rest. And I suspect you didn't know that this "climate change" scam was originally created by Biggest Oil Rockefellers through their UN front man, the late Maurice Strong (Canadian big oil). Pollution is a problem and corporations are evil, but if you get your news and science from the same psychopaths, you won't make informed decisions.

@RodMartinJr
@RodMartinJr 7 жыл бұрын
Yes, reduce pollution, but not CO2. We're in a period of severe CO2 starvation and have been for over 30 million years. 150 ppm -- CO2 mass extinction 400 ppm -- Today's CO2 level 800 ppm -- The starvation trigger level that prompted plants to evolve C4 species 1,600 ppm -- CO2 normal 4,000 ppm -- CO2 abundance, which most plants love 8,000 ppm -- Rich CO2 levels like those that helped plants create the fossil fuels we use today 10,000 ppm -- Nominal CO2 levels on naval submarines 20,000 ppm -- Maximum CO2 on NASA spacecraft (SMAC) We live in an Ice Age and the UN psychopaths want to cool down the planet. Dumb! That could end up killing 7+ billion people! Imagine India having only 30 people alive after they get done. China? 300? Europe 100,000 to serve the psychopathic, self-proclaimed elite? The people who own Big Oil also own Big News, Big War and Big Science. To them, most of us are "useless eaters" using up "their" resources.

+Vuthruyol If you spent as much time as you do telling others it is a myth than you do researching climate, then I'm sure you will change your outlook, articles can rebut most of the claims which are made against it, even 5 minutes reading on a reliable website will give you a better understanding, heres a short video you should watch: /watch?v=ffjIyms1BX4
@RodMartinJr

+ Brycewaddo, I've studied climate science since the mid-70s and even I was fooled by slick websites and Al Gore presentations. Stop appealing to authority. That's a logical fallacy! Have you researched climate for 40+ years? I have! That doesn't make me right. So, let's talk facts. Biggest Oil Rockefellers created the "climate change" scam to gain more power. Look up Club of Rome. Look up Maurice Strong (Canadian big oil). Look up Corbett Report on climate, Rockefellers and global government. We live in an ongoing Ice Age and these psychos are pushing a deadly ice fetish while demonizing the very thing that made civilization possible 12,000 years ago. Look up "interglacial," "Ice Age," and "Holocene."
