I like National Geographic, I'm always interested in science, but Nat Geo's kind of heading downhill - way, way too much sensationalism and overdramatization in their documentaries now. Not necessary. You're reporting science. Science is interesting. You don't have to fluff it up to try to make it interesting. We're intelligent human beings.

There actually was a survivor from the Sydney as a life raft with an unidentified body was found three months later near an island off the coast of Australia. Recently in 2021 the body was exhumed and identified by DNA as a sailor assigned to the HMAS Sydney, Able Seaman Thomas Clark. He survived the battle, but tragically died at sea awaiting a rescue that never came.

To put the Christchurch quake into perspective. The buildings were designed to withstand a very strong quakes should the ground move as predicted. On that day, it didn't, The ground moved in a very unpredictable way, in a way it scientifically shouldn't have and that's what caused the destruction....

To put the Made in USA quakity into perspective the USS Nevada is a 100 year old battleship, it was designed to battle other ships, yet on an unpredictable day the ship was nuked. Scientists still don't know how it managed to survive the destructive power of a nuke yet it did. So they nuked it again, and yet it remained, feeling out played the US military decided to shell the ship. After extensive shelling did little to sink the already mangled ship hit it with a few torps to finally do it in.

Has this been done in the Great Lakes? That would be fascinating.
Scary possibilities! but I think if the Yellowstone caldera blows it's top, wouldn't it be worse than a megaquake near Cascadia? As worst natural disaster. Lots of people in NV, and the fallout zone stretches all the way into the east.

People here on the Pacific Coast do not all feel safe. The deepest part of the ocean is in the middle between North America and China. The Mariana Trench. It's 7 miles deep. With fish as big as fish we've never imagined before. Sharks over 60 feet long. It's unimaginable.

The survival and development of human beings require the increase of destroying the ocean and allowing it to slowly diminish. Otherwise, humans will eventually be irrigated and washed away by the seawater of the ocean. In fact, it is essentially to allow the ocean to cool down the magma beneath the earth. But for so many years, it seems that the ocean water has been rushing towards the respective islands. Is there any other way to reduce the sea water?

I laugh at how they say Vancouver & Seattle *are* in danger of a tsunami.. HORSESHIT.. Vancouver is protected by that 500 km (300 mi) long island off its coast and the Smaller island at both ends that protect the Salish Sea from getting angry. While Seattle is protected by the Southern end of Vancouver Island and the Olympic peninsula as well as the islands in the Puget Sound. Vancouver Island highest peak is over 7000 ft, the eastside of Vancouver Island probably wont even get wet.
