About Life Below Zero:
Life Below Zero follows six people as they battle for the most basic necessities in the state with the lowest population density in the United States. Living at the ends of the world's loneliest roads and subsisting off the rugged Alaskan bush, they battle whiteout snow storms, man-eating carnivores, questionable frozen terrain, and limited resources through a long and bitter winter. Some of them are lone wolves; others have their families beside them. All must overcome despairing odds to brave the wild and survive through to the spring. And when spring arrives in Alaska, rising temperatures bring mounting challenges as they work to prepare for yet another winter.

All these people in this video are so amazing. I love how they respect everything about the land and how they respect one another. It's also so refreshing not to hear foul language like we hear everyday in the lower 48. GOD BLESS EACH AND EVERYONE IN THIS VIDEO AND MAY GOD GIVE THEM ALL A LONG HEALTHY AND HAPPY LIFE.

National Geographic you really blew me away this time. If you really want to authentically show Alaska and it's beauty then show me the first indigenous people. Not millionaires not having a clue or appreciation for the land, customs or traditions or even their struggles. Show me hard working indigenous people who have the utmost respect for the land and all it has to give. Show me their day to day struggles. Show me their respect for nature. Show me a proud people unlike another group on earth!

You are so right. It is past time for us to have critical conversations and discussions about the First Alaskans because of their culture, heritage, respect and authentic love for nature. Thank you for sharing their day to day struggles and for reminding us of what's really important. I am just thankful the truth is finally being shared by those who eat, sleep, breath, survive day to day. Well done National Geographic! Thank you!

Wow! I admit, I had grown a little tired of life below zero. Highlighting the first Alaskans was the right thing to do and this is an amazing show. I haven’t turned on Disney+ for a while. I’m hoping there is more from this available there. Thank you National Geographic. This is brilliant. Informative and beautiful.

Envy, I know it's wrong to envy others. The way things are going, I would Love to live this way. The last couple of years, the effects of global climate change has made the unbelievers of climate change stop and join in the reality of the catastrophic effect our precious planet & human beings are facing. It's early June & where I Live, we are already in triple digit heat waves. It's not uncommon, but it's very early. We only had 2 frosts this past winter & my rose bushes bloomed roses into December. I would cherish living in Alaska & honestly seeing and watching these families in the snow helps to cool things down. Wonderful Families , Thank you NG !!!!

I'M FROM the Lower Yukon River, we are Dealing with huge problems with huge potluck processing trawling ships in Bering Sea and they only keep the litte pollock fish and toss over our huge king salmon and salmon like dog salmon and silver salmon preventing us from practicing our way of life subsisting on them and passing them onto our children. During the world war's we had several canaries to provide USA soldiers withn canned salmon. We had four cannerys from mouth of the Yukon River up to St. Mary's...but there all shut down. Our commercial fisheries are all closed since 1998, so we're dependent on donations from Alaska Department of Fish and Game and helpful donations from Bristol Bay. Thankfully we are still abe to continue our subsistence way of life. PRAISE THE LORD.

This is my first time to come across this series and I'm really enjoying it... the attitude of the featured families is heart warming... it's interesting to note that one of the locales featured is Koyocon... there's a city in Mexico, in fact the city that Frida Kahlo is from is also called Coyocan... just a different spelling... the peterman...
