Identifying as Christians yet latching onto animist identity, gods and culture! You are either Christian or animists and never in between!! Sadly, Nagas have sought fame and fortune over showing and preaching the Gospel but I wonder how many of the Nagas truly identify as genuine Christians rather than as a namesake like the Westerners

That “beautiful shawl” is call “Errie Ra” which means “war shawl” worn by the Chakhesang men. The women’s version is white background with red borders with black and red design minus the spears and is called “Erru Ra” which translate to “Bone Shawl”. Treasure that shawl, it takes more that two weeks to carry and weave it, then trim it to shape the spears.

We all hv dark sides...even North easterns kill each others everywhere!! Ethnic violence is worst in north east 😢 It's Indian Government only who is promoting all these.. Christianity hv destroyed more than half of north eastern culture!!

They are doing this with government collaboration. Indian already helping allot To NE states far more than what the contributes in national economy. Racism exist everywhere in north, in south even in Nagaland to. All are equally bad. Now thinking of people are changing although its common sense that no society can be perfect ever. Be positive, try to except the changes and appreciate it and try to contribute.

People who are commenting on Indians who don't respect or treat NE states as theirs have half knowledge, First we Indians were taught very less about our North Eastern states in our history textbooks we are taught more about French revolution compared to history of NE states but things are changing steadily and now as more and more people are getting aware about NE states people on mainland there respect towards people from NE is growing some examples are Mary Kom, Phangnon Konyak( First Lady from NE state mainly nagaland to chair Rajya sabha), Temjem Imna(MP from Nagaland).. India is growing and so do Indians.. It took USA around 100years after emancipation proclamation to allow black people to vote in there own country, It took Australia 100 years since 1900(when all 6 colonies united to become what is Australia today declaring Australia as independent country) to allow Aborginies to assimilate in general population..Be patience!!

Exactly!! Most of the ignorance among commoners came from the lack of knowledge about North-eastern part. It's really sad that most of the history books just revolve around Mughals.
