If you think from a different angle, this is actually an evolution miracle. Pandas have been eating bamboo for 20 thousand years, but have you ever thought of what kind of dramatic environmental change that occurred to them then that forced these carnival animals to change their diet completely to a bamboo-based diet? I can only imagine whatever happened must been really tough and harsh for them at that time. Of all these species that went extinct, how many of them can achieve what pandas have done and to actually survive and live on? And we should keep in mind that these days we humans are the greatest threat to their survival, and before our appearance, they were doing fine in their own habitat for such a long time.

After a little reading on these guys I think I figured out how they got here. They are actually very strong and their ancestors probably dominated the area, when there was nothing left to challenge them they just started eating bamboo and sleeping, hence the Panda we see today.

Hey everyone, They are three really cute pandas currently inhabit at Taipei national Zoo. YuanYuan (age 18) is mother to the other two pandas Yuanzai (age 8) and Yuanbao (age 2). A month ago they just lost Tuantuan (age 18) who was husband of YuanYuan and father of Yuanzai and Yuanbao who died due to epilepsy that occur because of malignant tumor. Before Tuantuan died, he didn’t have any chance to be with his beloved family. Instead of stay with his beloved family he was alone. When Tuantuan was still alive, he often communicated with his wife and daughters though windows and cage. When Yuanzai was still a kid, the zoo made a pillow with picture of Yuanzai and YuanYuan, Tuantuan hugged the pillow, which is an indication that he loved his family. Although people say that Giant Panda enjoy to live alone but according to Michigan State University of United state’s research who install GPS monitoring collar on Giant Pandas in Shaumari Wildlife Reserve in China Szechwan from 2010 to 2012. They traced 5 Giant pandas, three of them are adult female panda Pan Pan, Mei Mei, Zong Zong, a young female panda Rong Rong and an adult male panda Quan Quan. According to scientists, pandas enjoy to stick together, three of those pandas even live together for many weeks. According to Michigan state university center for systems integration and sustainability an associate researcher Vanessa Hull said " It's not just a coincidence, they are obviously in the same position, and we can't expect their group activities, Giant pandas are not as lonely as people think, and this is evidence!" *********************************** Recently, Taipei national zoo wants to separate YuanYuan and Yuanbao. They gives lots of excuses to keep them separated . For example, the zoo said Yuanbao and YuanYuan should be separate as they fear that YuanYuan will not have enough nutrient due to Yuanbao still drink breast milk from her, this can be easily solve by giving YuanYuan more food to eat, this ensure YuanYuan to have enough nutrition. Or give Yuanbao lots of food to eat, this can prevent her desire to drink breast milk from YuanYuan. In reality, if Yuanbao weight similar to her peers, which means she doesn’t receive lots of milk from her mom as she also eats lots of other food. They said that panda circle their territory, this is not true as they are a family. Three pandas live next door to each other and the zoo often change show room so both side have their smell. The zoo believes the pandas should live like pandas who live in the wild. But in reality, they live in the zoo for almost their whole life. Some wildlife pandas might live alone due to limit food . But as the three pandas in the zoo have lots of food so food shortage is not a problem. Finally, YuanYuan loves her daughter very much, she doesn’t try to cast her daughter away from her. She wants to be with her. Pandas love each other. We should make a protest to the zoo to help Yuanbao to stay with her mom as they don't want to separate. We should help Yuanzai (older sister) to occasionally be with her mom and sister as they really love each other and Yuanzai haven’t be with her mom since she was 1.5 years old. Depression will only make their life shorter, it wouldn't help anything. Not every panda wants to live alone. Every panda has their own personality. Don't use mankind’s thinking to believe pandas’ thinking. Even if International Giant Panda Team thinks that Yuanbao and Yuanyuan should be separated, but please remember the pandas have their own personalities. Humans should respect their ideas and let them do as they want. Yuanyuan and Yuanbao just lost Tuantuan (father of Yuanbao and husband of Yuanyuan). Yuanyuan and Yuanbao spend a lot of time together, and they rely on each other very much. Don't hurt the mental and physical condition of giant pandas for money. They should be treat with love ! Humans will not know what the giant panda is thinking, because human beings do not know what the others is thinking.
