Ever since I was a little kid, I wanted to grow up and be a surfer like you nate!....... Just kidding!! Seriously though, really stoked and very proud you and your brothers have grown up to become the incredible surfers and cool dudes you are now!!!! You represent Hawaii and the north shore (we called it "the country"in my era, because it was!!!) Well!!! I'm born and raised in the country, born in 1960, I grew up when it was so different from today!!!! Pretty much everything, except the best surf, which has been here since the ancient Hawaiians, who must have watched breaks like Pipeline especially with complete awe and respect!! It was sugar cane fields everywhere in the islands back then, and there were so few surfers compared to today, it was just paradise and I'm truly blessed to have been surfing my heart out during decades where there were a handful of "da boys", and surfing perfect waves was just something we had to ourselves!!! I commonly surfed spots alone for hours, which will likely never happen again. I watched you guys grow up out in the country on the beach and with your mom, and from when you first started surfing as little blond haired kids, Jon, especially we all pegged from a little grom, to guaranteed be a future world champion surfer!!!! Same with Carissa Moore!!! We could just tell!! Keep up representing Hawaii well and blowing minds!!! It's just very satisfying having carefully watched you guys since you were so young and seeing you progress in life, especially surfing!!!!! I grew up in such a great time for surfing in the country, and being close with all the best surfers, I get a satisfying feeling watching you guys today, yet remembering when I was young and surfing waves like Pipeline all the time before the crowds and media blew it up. As someone who doesn't live near the ocean (yet) and needs to make the most out of every holiday to surf, clips like these are what keep my dreams alive.
