No no, mindlessly shooting at an armored vehicle and wasting bullets is a brilliant strategy. The most brilliant part of the strategy, though, is when they let the perpetrator calmly climb into the vehicle and escape after releasing the hostage, only snapping out of their apparent vacant daze once he started driving.
