It's not the car crashes, the mob shootouts, or the characters marrying for the 11th time that draw in audiences to soaps. This human interaction, revisiting a trauma and tragedy that happened to specific characters but was also at the same time, universal - seeing a story that still resonates with the audience 30 years later - THIS is what soaps do better than any other kind of show. (And what most soaps, cancelled or still around, too often forget.)

If BJ was a ghost, how come people were able to see her and talk to her? The writing team should have invited Brad Maule (Tony Jones) to come back so the three of them could walk off into the sunset. Just like Edward and Lila did when John Engle's character passed away, the ending of that episode was simply priceless. If memory serves me right, Edward and Lila's characters walked up the staircase into the sunset. What a beautiful and moving moment!

@@sethmorgan833 I didn’t see those episodes when they first aired some 30 years ago but thanks to KZbin I was able to watch those emotional episodes. Ever since Frank took over I've very rarely agreed with the decisions that have been made for the show. It has seemed like from the beginning he had very little respect for the show's history or the fans who've been watching for, in many cases decades. I've honestly felt like he is only interested in telling the stories for the characters and actors that he likes and that he would prefer to replace the rest of the legacy characters with new characters of his creation so the show is essentially a monument to his perceived greatness and ABC has seemed inclined to let him do it. All that said, in this ONE CASE I believe that Frank and the writers made all the right decisions. They waited for the writers' strike to end and the actors' strike and wrote a beautiful tribute to Jackie Zeaman that really honored the character as well as the woman. While I do wish that they had brought Leslie Charleston in so Monica could be there I've heard she's having health issues and that may not have been possible, but they did bring in some important actors who played key roles in Bobbie's life and I appreciate that.

Why was Lucy and Bobbie fighting for custody? What relation did BJs biological mother have with either of them
@deeking9147 күн бұрын
@@airodriguez2007Tony married Lucy not long after his wife Tania died. He was grieving and Lucy took advantage because she was after his money although she did genuinely love BJ. Bobbie was Tony's best friend and also genuinely loved BJ. She wanted custody to protect BJ as she trust Lucy's intentions since Tony was preparing to divorce Lucy at the time that he went blind. The judge ruled against both women gaining custody and was going to send BJ to a foster home when Anna asked the court if she and Duke could be BJ's foster parents until Tony recovered.

Would have made more sense if Bobbie's spirit came to visit instead of BJ. Why would BJ call Lucas Champ when it was Bobbie who called him that.
@rebeckahsmith68766 ай бұрын
Well, since Jackie Zemen really passed away, to bring back Bobbie's spirit they would have to recast her, and if they did that, they could have just recast the character to begin with and not even bother with a Memorial. Also, I think Lucas said that Bobbie hated when people would call him by a nickname and Barbara Jean would call him that to kind of mock Bobbie in a playful way. Maybe Bobbie started calling Lucas "Champ" after Barbara Jean died to honor her or something.
@christopheremfinger36666 ай бұрын

She has severe endometriosis, and her medication makes her gain weight. She’s been in the hospital several times over the last decade bc of it. She may be a little thicker, but that’s a fine price to not live in constant pain and agony.
@nickimorelli99916 ай бұрын
I get that the writers wanted to remind viewers of Jackie's scenes from this storyline in their tribute to Bobbie, so why not just show that? Were we really supposed to believe that BJ died as a little girl & grew up in heaven? Oh, and that her family figured out it was her when the last time they saw her she was like 10 yrs old? That is just a very far leap to take.

What Jacklyn Zeman did to her face at the end........those enormous cheek fillers......what a shame. And I agree with the other commenters-the music is entirely too loud. It is very hard to hear the dialogue, esp in the older clips. I see this with a lot of YT videos-there is a consistent issue regulating the volume. You cannot hear them talking so I turn the volume up, then the music comes on and I nearly lose an eardrum. It is quite irritating.
